That’s a wrap on the Potjiekos Showdown 2026!

13 teams, 13 potjies and a full day of fires, good food and even better company. The aroma of slow-cooked potjie filled the whole venue, the laughter never stopped, and every team brought serious competitive spirit.

Congratulations to our winners:

🥇 The Control Commanders, our 2026 champions

🥈 The POTentials

🥉 Meat the board

Fan favourite: Lamb-bassadors, voted by the crowd

The Control Commanders and The POTentials finished level on points, so Taste decided the title. It doesn’t get much closer than that.
A big thank you to every team that lit a fire and took part: The Potfather, 50 Shades of Gravy, Dynamic divas, Jason and the Argonauts, The Undercooks, G.O.A.T, The Aluminium Chefs, Team Vaughn Fulton and OutOfTokens. Thank you as well to our judges Jarrod, Marshal and Rajes, who had the toughest (and tastiest) job of the day.

Days like this show what our people are about beyond the work. We can’t wait to see you all at the next Showdown.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the IITP SA & Wirk Business Breakfast last week!

It was a morning full of meaningful conversations, networking and fresh thinking on how to keep growing in an unpredictable world.

Our COO, Nico Claassen, reminded us that effort and ability matter, but attitude can change everything. Prof. Kerry-Lynn Thomson from Nelson Mandela University followed with an eye-opening look at staying cyber-safe in the age of AI.

A special thank you to all our speakers for sharing their insights, and to IITPSA, WIIT, SIGCyber and every guest for such an insightful breakfast.

At Wirk, we are passionate about building custom software solutions that drive sustainable growth and innovation for local and global businesses.
