TownScape USB Anti-Virus - Prevent your computer from being infected with a USB flash drive
The Internet is not the only place where a computer can be infected with a virus. Unchecked USB flash drives can also contain malicious software and you only need to plug them in and the contained virus can spread through the system. Most anti-virus software require constant updating which means that your protection is not 100% guaranteed. This is not the case with TownScape USB Anti-Virus. It will prevent infection from USB sticks and you will never have to update it.

There is only a 1.95 Mb kit to download, which should not be too much for any type of Internet connection. The installation process is just as fast. There are no complex settings to be made and there is no need to install additional tools or plugins.

There is nothing much you can do with the software, except letting it work in the background. When you plug in a USB storage device, the program will check it immediately and prevent any infections. A small window will appear for a few seconds, notifying you that TownScape USB Anti-Virus is checking the inserted device.

The compact interface features a list of threats found on a USB device and one with general statistics, such as the quarantine size, the engine's version and others. Using the buttons on the toolbar, you can access the quarantine, a list of blocked viruses and options for repairing the damage caused by a virus, by restoring the task manager, the Registry or the folder options.

Pros:
The best thing about TownScape USB Anti-Virus is the fact that it does not require any updates. As long as it works in the background, it will prevent infections that may come from USB devices.

Cons:
The software may be blocked by other anti-virus programs.
