After an epic 2021 (my best year in business so far😊) it's time for me to take a well-deserved (and may I say badly needed) break!

TPS will be closed from the 16th of December 2021 to the 17th of January 2022.

A huuuuge thank you to the special group of people that supported the TPS journey this year - without the guidance and support from some of you, I'd have been a goner.

I wish you all you magical festive season with your loved ones - and if you like interesting and exciting things ... watch this space next year!

If at first, you don't succeed ...

These last few weeks in my business have been such a learning curve, I'm starting to go a little cross-eyed.
I challenge anyone who thinks they know anything about anything to start their own business - it's the quickest way to realize how little you know known to man!

But to be honest - I wouldn't change this journey for anything in the world. I love being constantly challenged by the ever-mysterious IG algorithms and the always-changing world of tech and business we find ourselves in right now!

Time for a portfolio project reveal!
This project was not easy - I wanted to add a piece of work to my portfolio that showcased my best work.

Company name: The Gathering Camp
About the company: The Gathering Camp is an intimate 4-day camp in the mountains of Vancouver, Canada for millennial girl bosses to connect, reset and recharge. We’re putting a boutique, girl boss spin on our favorite summer camp days — each day will be filled with brunch, creative workshops, speakers, fireside chats and more.
Emotions we want our brand to exude: We really want our brand to have a strong “sisterhood” feel — it should feel exciting, inspiring and uplifting

Branding I did for a photography studio - part one.

This project really challenged me, because my client wanted a minimalistic, modern, and artistic brand. They didn't want any graphic elements to be added to the design of the logo.
🍅
I loved creating this set of logo concepts for them to choose from, steering away from any icons or illustrations other than the name of their studio!

I've always gravitated towards a specific personality type when it comes to relationships and doing business.
🍅
Mostly because I prefer to join forces with people that have a different set of strengths than I do - and also, people who are not likely to secretly feel that they are better at my job than I am. 🙃
(Have you guys ever had clients like that? not the best experience).
🍅
This is why I love working with logical, introverted entrepreneurs who are sensitive to harmony with others and who prefer to make decisions based on facts and thinking, rather than feeling.
🍅
I've also found that teaming up with this personality type works well, because oftentimes people with this personality are easily overwhelmed when there are numerous decisions to be made, and they need a specialist they can trust to step in, take action, and free them up to focus on the things that bring them joy. (Although I'm an introvert, too - I'm this weird unicorn that loves strategy and ex*****on. Making decisions and taking action are my JAM🦄).

Vocal training Academy Branding - part 2!

One of my favourite things to do as a graphic designer is getting to be a part of bringing my client's dreams and visions to life, and experiencing that moment of joy when I've successfully captured the essence of their business.

This was one of my very first projects when I just started Tomato Pen Studios back in 2019!

Looking back at these logos, I'm actually amazed at how much I've changed and grown as a designer. Still - I wanted to share this project with you guys because I'm still proud of it and it was done for a client very close to my heart.

This client owns a vocal coaching studio for kids, and she needed a redesign on her branding. She asked that variations of blue and green be used to create a brand that is inspiring and uplifting for little ones.

This last month, I've been digging super deep to get crystal clear about my why.

I thought I'd take a moment to share this with you guys - because I think I finally got this down!
(this took a LOT of work, you guys - a girl wants to brag a little!)

Tomato Pen Studios is all about helping the people who want to help people.
All the small businesses in the wellness industry - from therapists to coaches, health bloggers, spiritual entrepreneurs, beauticians, etc - I want to help the small business owners in this industry to build and scale their businesses and grow their income.

The world has never needed the wellness industry more - this has always been the case, but I feel that after the pandemic, this cry for help is louder and more dire than ever before.
🍅
As an empath and a Highly Sensitive, I pick up on these vibes, and I want to team up with the people that are able to respond to it by removing obstacles from their path and empowering them to serve in the best way they can.

Renegade Coffee Shop Branding - Part 2!

The bold and edgy aspect of this brand really connected with my inner rebel (that's still alive and well, by the way).

I really enjoyed creating a design that hinted at a coffee cup as well as a donut at the same time - I'm very proud of the end result!
