Important Notice: WhatsApp Will Stop Working on iPhone 6s and Older Models After May 2025 – Here’s What You Need to Do
Dear Customers,
We’d like to bring an important update to your attention regarding WhatsApp support on older iPhones. Starting June 1, 2025, WhatsApp will no longer work on iPhones running iOS 12 or earlier, including popular models like the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone SE (1st generation).
This change is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to improve security and performance by focusing on newer operating systems and devices.
What Does This Mean for You?
If you’re using an iPhone 6s or any older model that cannot be updated beyond iOS 12, WhatsApp will stop functioning on your device after May 31, 2025. You won’t be able to send or receive messages, make calls, or access chat backups.
What Should You Do Now?
Here are the steps we recommend:
1. Check Your iPhone Model and iOS Version
• Go to Settings > General > About to see your current iPhone model and iOS version.
• If your iPhone supports iOS 13 or later, you can update it and continue using WhatsApp.
2. Back Up Your Chats
Before WhatsApp stops working:
• Go to WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Chat Backup.
• Back up your messages to iCloud to ensure you can restore them on a new device.
3. Consider Upgrading Your iPhone
If you’re using an iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, or SE (1st gen), now is a good time to upgrade to a newer model that supports the latest iOS versions and apps.
We’re happy to help you choose the right iPhone for your needs, transfer your data, and set up WhatsApp on your new device.
Final Thoughts
We understand that change can be inconvenient, but upgrading ensures your device stays secure and compatible with the latest features. Feel free to reach out to our support team or visit our store – we’re here to make the transition as smooth as possible.
