OSCS IT Support Services was started as a sole proprietor run company in October 2003 (registered as a cc in 2007) and has steadily continued to grow over the years. We specialize in the provision of on site support to small and medium size businesses in the KZN region. Being an owner run business itself, the understanding of the importance of support of any nature has been key to the success that

has been found. Over the years OSCS has been awarded and retained the KZN support contracts for some large national and international companies. This is in addition to many large and small companies that continue to benefit from the support services offered by OSCS. We have helped many customers grow their businesses by supporting and expanding their IT infrastructure whilst offering sound advice and solutions. Some of these customers have grown from small home offices to national multi-office enterprises. Our services cover all aspects of IT support, networking and hardware supply. Backup being the most important factor behind any service or equipment supplied. All equipment is purchased from reputable suppliers/importers and is sold with a 3 Year on site warranty where applicable. Turn around/response time is of utmost importance and is the first consideration in any interaction with a customer. Warranty claims are normally resolved by the next business day. Priority support response is same day normally within 3 hours of a call being logged. Non-priority response is usually same day but according to the urgency may be next business day. Remote support is also offered depending on the nature of the problem, providing the PC has an internet connection. This is a quick and efficient means of resolving an issue without the need for scheduling a call out. Over time many relationships with other reliable service providers have been developed and we find ourselves working together on projects or jointly supporting a customer quite often. The trust that has been developed between ourselves has made it possible for us to call on one another in circumstances where assistance is required, assuring the customer receives the best service or skills possible.

Job description
IT Field Technician required to join a rapidly growing team in the Kloof area of KZN. Position reports to the operations manager, and involves travelling to clients' premises throughout KZN to attend to on-site IT and telecom related setups, maintenance and repair tasks.
Hours are 08h00 to 17h00 Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime required.
Use of a company vehicle for business purposes will be provided. (Valid Driving License Required)
Education Required:
Matric with mathematics
Code 8 driver's license
CompTia A+ N+
CompTia Security+ advantageous
Microsoft MCSA / MCSE highly advantageous
MikroTik/Ubiquiti certification highly advantageous
IT related diploma or degree advantageous
Skillsets & Experience Required:
At least 3 years experience in a field technician role non-negotiable
Excellent written and spoken English non-negotiable
Ability to follow instructions, and document processes essential
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems essential
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages essential
Advanced knowledge of desktop, laptop, server and networking hardware essential
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems essential
Microsoft Active Directory administration essential
Microsoft Exchange Server & Office 365 administration essential
Understanding of networking principles and the OSI model is essential
Understanding of wireless networking principles is essential
Understanding of centrally managed anti-virus packages essential
Familiarity with MikroTik routers highly advantageous
Familiarity with Sophos firewalls highly advantageous
Familiarity with HP, Epson, and Canon multifunction printers advantageous
Experience with IP PBX & VoIP solutions highly advantageous
Experience with IP surveillance and VMS solutions highly advantageous

We are looking for a Junior Field IT Technician to deliver the desired customer service experience. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases profitability.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
• Tie workflow to schedule
• Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
• Produce timely and detailed service reports
• Offering technical assistance on the delivery, configuration, set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, hardware, and software.
• Training computer users.
• Carry out review and evaluation of problems between machines and host network at customer locations and resolve them effectively
• Ensure that hardware nodes used for machine communications to the cloud are correctly configured; also provide hardware and software support
Technician Requirements:
• Possess Associate’s degree in Computer Science or its equivalent qualification
• Possess one years or more experience working in information technology environment
• Possess Network + Certification or equivalent knowledge/experience
• Strong ability to work without direct supervision, applying independent judgment in analyzing and resolving customers’ problems
• Proven ability to be effective working in a team
• Strong knowledge and understanding of basic networking concepts, computer systems, hardware, and software, including IP Addressing/subnetting/protocols.
• Strong communication skills to effectively pass strategies, ideas, problems, and solutions to customers and co-workers in writing and verbal
• Willingness and ability to travel to various customer sites when necessary to fix their issues

We are looking for a competent Help desk support technician to provide fast technical assistance to our clients. An excellent Help desk technician must have good technical knowledge and communication skills. They must also be customer focused and patient.

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
Perform remote troubleshooting and diagnostics
Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
Provide accurate information on IT products or services
Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
Follow-up and update customer status and information
Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
Requirements

Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role
Experience in IT customer support
Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
Proficiency in English
Excellent communication skills
