🌍✨ CodeTelligence Academy at GEC+Africa 2026

We were excited to have our Communication Liaison Officer Sisanda Ngqiva and our CEO, Keoikantse Tsholofelo Botlholo, represent CodeTelligence Academy at GEC+Africa 2026 in Cape Town.

GEC+Africa brought together entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, business leaders and ecosystem builders from across Africa, creating a powerful space for connection, collaboration, learning and growth.

For the academy , being part of this gathering was about much more than simply attending an event. It was an opportunity to engage with new ideas, meet inspiring people, explore potential partnerships and gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities shaping Africa’s entrepreneurial and business landscape.

πŸ’‘ For business growth, events like GEC+Africa remind us of the importance of building meaningful networks, identifying opportunities for collaboration and staying connected to the broader ecosystem.

🌱 For personal growth, it was equally valuable β€” a chance to learn from different perspectives, challenge our thinking and return with fresh ideas and renewed inspiration.

At CodeTelligence Academy, we believe that growth happens when we remain open to learning, connecting and creating opportunities together.

We are grateful to have been part of GEC+Africa 2026and look forward to taking the lessons, connections and inspiration from the experience forward.

Connecting Africa. Connecting ideas. Creating possibilities.πŸŒπŸš€

2 WEEKS OF LEARNING, GROWTH & REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE! 🌟

We are proud to celebrate one of our CodeTelligence Academy student Siwamkele Matutu who recently completed a 2-week Job Shadowing Programme with Nedscaper! πŸ’»πŸ”

During this valuable experience, our student had the opportunity to gain practical exposure to the world of Cybersecurity and Security Operations, while learning directly from industry professionals.

Throughout the two weeks, the student explored key areas such as:

πŸ”Ή Security Operations Centre (SOC) – Understanding how security incidents are monitored, prioritised and managed based on severity.
πŸ”Ή SIEM & Ticketing Integration – Gaining insight into how security monitoring tools work together with ticketing systems.
πŸ”Ή Incident Management – Learning how cybersecurity teams respond to and track security incidents.
πŸ”Ή Real-World Cybersecurity Practices – Connecting classroom knowledge with practical industry experience.

This job shadowing opportunity provided an important bridge between learning and the workplace, allowing our student to build confidence, develop professional skills and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to work in the cybersecurity industry. πŸš€

A huge THANK YOU to the Nedscaper team for opening their doors, sharing their knowledge and investing in the development of the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. πŸ™ŒπŸ½

At CodeTelligence Academy, we believe that education goes beyond the classroom. We create opportunities for our students to DISCOVER β€’ LEARN β€’ PRACTISE β€’ GROW and prepare themselves for meaningful careers in technology. πŸ’™πŸ’»

🌟 WE HAVE KICKSTARTED THE WISE PROGRAM! 🌟

Yesterday, we officially kicked off our WISE Programme at , and what an incredible start it was! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ’»

We welcomed 17 amazing participants who showed up ready to learn, grow and take the next step towards building their future. πŸš€

Our first session focused on Basic CV Creation Skills, where participants were introduced to the essential things they need to know when creating a professional and effective CV. From understanding what information belongs on a CV to presenting their skills and experiences in a way that can open doors, it was all about giving them the confidence to put themselves forward. πŸ“„βœ¨

The WISE journey is guided by four powerful steps:

πŸ”Ž DISCOVER – Discover your strengths, skills and opportunities.
✍🏾 CREATE – Create a CV and personal profile that represents YOU.
πŸ’ͺ🏾 PRACTISE – Practise your skills and build confidence.
🌱 GROW – Grow your knowledge, opportunities and career.

Yesterday was just the beginning! We are excited to continue this journey with our participants as they Discover. Create. Practise. Grow.🌱✨

A big thank you to Harare Library for providing a space where learning, empowerment and opportunity can thrive. ❀️

From Khayelitsha to Zoho πŸ’™πŸš€

Today, we celebrate one of our own, Zenande Mekuto, a CodeTelligence Academy alumnus who is now working at Zoho Africa in Johannesburg as a CRM Intern! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸΎ

Zenande completed 6 months of training with us, specialising in Technical Support, Zoho CRM and Desk Support. Seeing where this journey has taken him is exactly why we do what we do.

For us, this is bigger than one person getting a job. It means one less young person experiencing unemployment in Khayelitsha. One more young person gaining experience, building a career and creating a future for themselves.

It is also a reminder that good things can come out of Khayelitsha when young people are given the right guidance, resources, exposure and quality training.

We are here to serve this community, and we will keep pushing, even when the difference we make starts with just one young person at a time.

Zenande, we are incredibly proud of you! πŸ™ŒπŸΎ Your journey inspires us to keep going, keep training and keep opening doors.

ZOHO has gained an amazing individual, and we know you are going to do great things.

Wishing you all the very best on this exciting new chapter!

From the classroom in Khayelitsha to the workplace in Johannesburg β€” this is what impact looks like.

Our hearts are heavy as we share that one of our CodeTelligence Alumni has suffered a devastating house fire. Thankfully, no lives were lost, but the family has lost everything they owned.

During this difficult time, we are appealing to our community, friends, and well-wishers to help in any way they can. Any donationβ€”whether it's clothing, food, household items, toiletries, furniture, building materials, or financial assistanceβ€”will make a meaningful difference as the family begins to rebuild their lives.

Every act of kindness, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated.

If you would like to donate or need more information, please contact Sisanda on 073 715 3093. This number is available for both calls and WhatsApp.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers, and kindly share this post to help us reach more people who may be able to assist.

Thank you for your generosity and support. ❀️
