TELECOM EXPENSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS CAN SAVE BUSINESSES MONEY
Telecom spend is seen as one of the highest cost components for any Enterprise organisation and if managed correctly will result in significant savings and increased efficiency within an organisation.
With the seemingly endless features and value added services that telecom operators are providing companies with today, it is becoming increasingly important to track and manage these costs with the use of intelligent applications.
Companies like Telesa are able to provide management with the appropriate high level view of their telecommunication spend, encompassing costs, infrastructure and usage. Where the information is automatically validated and presented to top management by means of high level reporting which can be used financially and strategically to better manage the company in its entirety. An effective Telecom Expense Management System will be able to assist a company with managing all telecommunication costs and usage; the recovery of excessive abuse costs; as well as managing faults and ensuring the correct service processes are maintained to assist the telecommunications system to run efficiently.
Carefully managed and monitored telecom spend will provide companies with important behavioural trends about their networks, their users and their contractual compliance, including a snapshot of what value added services are actually providing value and which are not.
Telesa has become one of the industry leaders in telecom expense management by providing agile solutions that incorporate all telecoms standards including mobile, fixed line telephony and data charges into a single reporting system. These solutions are also able to drill somewhat deeper into usage to report on protocols within this data.
“Looking at where the world is moving, it is clear that Telecommunication focus is not always at the forefront of what clients want. BUT by its very nature, it is a critical enabler that will ensure the survival of a company,” explains Deon Munn, Director of Telesa. “As a company grows, it becomes imperative that they have systems in place to manage their environment. Added to this, the need for speed has ensured that a company’s reliance on automated systems is supported by the use of superior telecommunication systems. This creates an environment where the controlling of these costs and the understanding as to how these costs add value to business has become a necessity.”

Mobility is the future.

It is understandable that human behaviour will have a substantial impact on the telecom industry making it more difficult for both companies and the traditional service providers to keep up with products and solutions to manage this environment effectively. RSA is no different especially with the increase in alternative SP coming to the market creating a competitive environment that has to be questionable.

To try and keep up with the changes and to differentiate themselves a number of new products are being released making the evaluation of this environment difficult for the man on the street. To further complicate matters the human behaviour of being swayed by the instrument is resulting in the call package being the smaller part of the decision making process.

To try and compete in this industry, the SP’s are finding it more difficult to compete due to the complexity of the different Billing tools needed to support this fast changing market and due to the complexity of the billing methodologies, resulting in confusion amongst the users to understand their billing

With the impact that smart phones are having on the industry what will be the next driver to determine where the industry with move to.

The impact Wifi will make is also not fully understood as this clearly can become GSM’s greatest challenge and risk.

LETS WATCH THIS SPACE.
