Last night, while most were settling in after a long day, the storm had other plans.
Just after 7pm, the wind picked up and the rain came down hard โ and within minutes it was clear this wasnโt just another storm. Trees came down onto roofs and cars, others uprooted and blocked roads, and in some places, parts of roofs didnโt hold up.
And yesโฆ some of our equipment didnโt make it through untouched either.
But morning still came. And with it, the same mission: get everyone back online โ even as some of us were still dealing with the stormโs damage at home.
Before the first cup of coffee is finished (and sometimes before the kettle even boils โ), the messages start coming in:
โHow long will the internet be down?โ
โWhy is it still not working?โ
โI need this fixed now.โ
And we understand. Being offline today doesnโt just feel inconvenient โ it feels like everything comes to a halt. Work, school, communicationโฆ even that โquick scrollโ that somehow turns into an hour.
Behind the scenes, the day looks a little different.
While one customer needs a quick fix, another has no connection at all. While one tower is affected, a few others might be too. Technicians are already out โ in the rain, in the mud, climbing where itโs slippery โ working to bring everything back to life.
In the office, itโs a constant rhythm. Calls, tickets, planning, coordinating, checking stock, sending updates โ and occasionally trying to remember where that now-cold cup of coffee was left.
Some fixes take minutes. Others take much longer. And sometimes, what looks simple turns into a bit of a puzzle (the kind nobody really asked for ๐
).
And still โ we show up.
Behind every call and message is a person โ someone doing their best, even on the days that arenโt easy.
Because at the heart of it, we care about what we do. We care about keeping you connected.
So on days like these, we ask for a little patience while everything comes back together. We promise weโre on it โ even if it takes a second cup of coffee (or third).
To every technician in the field, every admin behind the desk, and every person helping keep the network alive โ thank you. Your effort matters.
To our customers โ thank you for walking this road with us, even on the messy days.
And to everyone in our community who suffered damage in last nightโs storm โ our thoughts are with you. We hope you and your families are safe. ๐งก
