On 22 May, the Yomo team, in partnership with , and the National Youth Service, kicked off the A Million Connected Youth Campaign in Newcastle, KZN— engaging with learners at uMzilikazi Secondary High School and Sabela Senior Secondary High School as part of a national movement to connect young South Africans to opportunity.
As we commemorate 50 years since the 1976 Youth Uprising, this campaign continues the legacy of a generation that fought for access, dignity, and a better future for young people in South Africa.
Today, our youth is stepping into a new world shaped by technology, connectivity, skills, and opportunity — making access to information, learning, and digital platforms more important than ever before.
From online learning and digital tools within the Yomoverse, to matric support through Matric Corner, Yomo is committed to putting SIM cards — and meaningful access — into the hands of a million young people across South Africa.
This is more than connectivity.
It’s access to the future.
