IDwiz is now building Solar and Backup "Trommels"

The Solar Trommel is ideal for off-grid to run a TV and comes with a solar panel
The Backup Trommel is ideal for load shedding and can drive a TV or a computer

These devices make use of a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. These batteries are far more reliable and have a much longer lifespan than the Lead Acid batteries traditionally used.
Both devices are supplied with a 12V DC lamp and have USB charger sockets to charge cellphones.

IDwiz has imported a range of LED lights. See website for pricelist.

Selwyn has changed all the lights in his house to LED lights. This has reduced his electricity bill by about 14 units per day, and about R500 per month.

The eSkan licence reader reads various bar codes and magnetic stripes:

· South African drivers licences (licence is decrypted)
· South African vehicle registration disks
· USA driver's licences (both mag stripe and barcodes)
· Namibia (both old and new formats)
· Electronic boarding pass
· Seafarers ID
· QR codes
· Passport MRZ data option
· ICAO ID MRZ data option

It also has the following features:
· Capture a picture
· Store and forward captured data
· USB and GSM connectivity options
· Automatically fill in forms on PC
· Supports user applications to manage captured data
· An SDK is available for user applications on eSkan
