[[12 July]] The Brotherhood of Great Hearts (Live at the Basement)

Featuring: Lesedi Ntsane (Trumpet) | Muhammad Dawjee (Tenor Sax) | Kagiso Ramela (Alto Sax) | Neville Nhlanhla Radebe (Double Bass) | Maxwell Baloyi (Piano) | Tumi Mogorosi (Drums)

More than a band, The Brotherhood of Great Hearts exists as a living institution: a space where ideas, histories, and musical voices meet.

Drawing from the legacy of Black Consciousness and the pursuit of an egalitarian society, the collective explores the role of music as a vessel for liberation, reflection, and connection.

Gathering under the title of “Brotherhood”, while acknowledging the complexities and limitations of the term, the ensemble extends beyond gendered language toward a greater ideal: a shared humanity anchored in truth, love, and freedom.

In a time of uncertainty, they hold firmly to the call of the “Great Heart”, an ideal of courage, integrity, and devotion to the search for meaning through sound.

This is music that honours the past, engages the present, and imagines new possibilities for the future.

Happy Youth Day 🇿🇦

Today, we celebrate the energy, resilience, creativity and potential of young people across our nation. Youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow—they are making a difference in our communities today.

At Love Braam, we remain committed to creating a precinct where young people can Learn, Live, Work and Play in a safe, clean, vibrant and inclusive environment.

As we commemorate the legacy of the youth of 1976, let us continue to inspire, empower, and create opportunities for the next generation to thrive.

Learn. Live. Work. Play.

Maintaining a clean and dignified public environment remains a key priority for the Braamfontein Improvement District.

As part of our weekly urban management programme, we identified urine odour hotspots and waste collection points throughout the precinct to undergo high-pressure washing and sanitisation. This proactive intervention helps to eliminate unpleasant odours, improve hygiene standards, and enhance the overall appearance of our public spaces.

Regular cleaning and maintenance contribute to a safer, healthier, and more welcoming environment for residents, businesses, students, workers, and visitors alike.

Together, we continue to make Braamfontein a precinct we can all be proud of."
