Van ’n houtskuur tot ’n eie fabriek – Heilbron-entrepreneur mik na die volgende rondte

Gerrie Muller van The Tallow Co. het van ’n klein begin in ’n houtskuur ’n gevestigde onderneming met ’n eie fabriek, laboratorium en span werknemers opgebou.

Sy storie is een van harde werk, deursettingsvermoë en die moed om ’n idee in ’n werklike onderneming te omskep.

Gerrie is tans ’n finalis in AfriForum Sakenetwerk se Entrepreneur van die Jaar-kompetisie, en met genoeg stemme kan hy na die volgende rondte deurdring.

From our founder, Gerrie Muller — the story behind The Tallow Co. ☕

From a wooden shed in my backyard to our own factory — this is our story.

When I started, there was no team or big factory. Just me, an idea, a wooden shed and plenty of coffee!

For the first eight months, I worked around 17 hours a day. During the day, I developed and manufactured skincare products and dispatched orders. At night, I taught myself how to get our online store noticed on Google. I had to make the products AND help people find them.

A year later, we established our own factory. Today, The Tallow Co. has ten employees, our own laboratory and more than 8,000 orders delivered. We also manufacture for other brands, supply chain stores and serve customers overseas.

Looking at these photos, I see more than buildings. I see the long days, the learning and every small step that brought us here. My greatest reward is seeing an idea I started alone create jobs for others and bring natural skincare products to our customers.

The coffee is still here — but now there’s a whole team to share it with!
