Production Supervisor Urgently needed!!!
Bonema has a exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor for Steel Wire-mesh production facility in Midrand.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage plans to ensure that production targets are met on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Daily supervision of staff (Attendance registers and daily planning of activities)
Ensure the effective communication of job expectations with the (subordinates)Plant Operators
Inform the Plant Manager/Engineer about staff shortages and assist in recruitment and selection process
Ensure that the production material and resources are always available at all times.
Ensure the Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental standards and adhered to.
Identify and prioritize training needs for subordinates on quality, health and safety, environmental standards and work procedures.
Assist with the development of safe working procedures in accordance with Act 85(OHSA).
Maintain safe and clean working environment by educating and directing subordinates on the use of all Personal Protective Equipment, control points, and plant equipment, production material and the end product
Work with Plant Manager/Engineer to build and promote a culture of productivity through adoption of the best operating practices.
Ensure operation of equipment by ensuring the repairs are executed timeously to minimize machinery and equipment down time.
Assist the Plant Manager/Engineer with the planning and management of operational budget for the Plant.
Act as Emergency Response Team incident commander
Prioritize and direct the activities of on-shift production staff
Initiate quality jackets and quarantines for non-conforming end products
Coach and lead troubleshooting efforts using problem solving techniques and procedures
Audit Plant Operator work procedures to ensure compliance with the quality standards

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Supervision, Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85), Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001), Production and Manufacturing processes, Budgeting, Contract Management, Project Management, Communication skills(oral, written, interpersonal), Report writing, Computer skills, Planning and Scheduling experience, Computer proficiency, Conflict resolution skills, Labour Legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA, Skills Development Levy Act, etc), Incident Management, Proven track record for delivering success in fast paced, results oriented environments, Performance management and appraisal, Problem solving
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
National Diploma in Production Management/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related fields plus Supervisory Development Programme and 1 years supervisory experience or 2 years Supervisory experience
OR
Trade(Millwright, Electrician, Fitter and Turner, or any related trade) plus Supervisory Development Program and 1 year supervisory experience or 2 years Supervisory experience
5 years working experience in a manufacturing/production/technical environment
Experience in production or manufacturing will be an added advantage
