*Can AI replace web developers* ❓⁉️
The clear answer to this question is NO! In the hands of a professional Developer, AI can improve productivity, help serve time, and open new possibilities. On its own, AI cannot achieve the complex end-to-end mechanical manipulations performed by real skilled developers.
Most people are skeptical about AI's capabilities and the future of Developers. They ask themselves *"Is it still necessary to learn coding and programming languages when AI can do it all for me with a single prompt?!"*
This skepticism stems from the growing number of self proclaimed Web Developers, better known as *"AI vibe coders!"* Most of the Apps built by AI vibe coders are absolute garbage 🗑️! *AI vibe coders are not Web Developers and will never replace professional web developers!*
The reason is very simple! *They don't know what they are doing!* They think it is some AI magic and a shortcut to make money or save money. A real Web Developer can be a vibe coder and still remains a real developer, building real solutions that work perfectly in the production environment! However, this doesn't mean that he/she is at the same level with the clueless vibe coders. There is a huge difference between these two: one is a developer and *remains in total control* of the whole project while the other one is not a developer and doesn't have any control whatsoever from the beginning to the end!
*Here is a quick analogy of an automatic self-driven car.*
This car does not plan a journey by itself. It takes the user or someone to plan the journey and command the car to drive them according to the plan. *So is AI!* Suppose AI is this car.
Now, anyone can use this car and start the journey well. *However, there are certain critical decisions that the car itself cannot make!* For example, when the car programmes fail mid journey, a real driver should take over and control the car manually. Communication may fail or there can be some misunderstanding or traffic rules may change. An ordinary car user who is NOT a diver can't! It takes a real driver to drive the car to the intended destinations and back which an ordinary car user who cannot dive the car can never achieve. They become stuck and never achieve the intended goals.
Vibe coders are like users of the self-driven car, but without driving licenses or driving skills!
The logic is simple, *Learn the languages and the fundamentals first and then vibe code with full control!*
