Three days on Omarchy as a daily driver.
Arch speed, install in under a minute, no hand edits to config. Hyprland takes a day to learn, then you keep it. You ask the agent for a tweak — file manager opacity, Samba share, theme, workspaces — and it lands in seconds. Dictation kept up with my Afrikaans accent. Cyberpunk 2077 with over 1,000 mods ran without a hitch on night three.
If you want Windows with a new skin, skip Omarchy. If you want a keyboard-led desktop that starts ready and stays fast, give it a look.

AliExpress ran hidden Web Audio processing that can fingerprint users.

A developer discovered the code while investigating a Bluetooth headphone problem. Opening AliExpress on his PC prevented his headphones from switching back to his phone.

The website wasn't playing audible music. It was running an inaudible audio process that kept the PC's audio path active. That processing can collect information about how a device handles audio and combine it with other browser characteristics to create a fingerprint.

It's not a Bluetooth hack, but it shows how much websites can collect without users knowing.

Omarchy Linux gets $10 million
Omarchy Linux landed $10 million in funding, with backing from Michael Dell, Patrick Collison, Tobi Lutke, Jack Dorsey and DHH himself.

DHH has argued for years that open source should welcome people regardless of politics. The Linux community's reaction to this funding proves his point.

Omarchy runs on Hyprland, a tiling window manager. Windows users face a steep learning curve: keyboard shortcuts replace mouse dragging, the Start menu and taskbar vanish, and the terminal becomes part of daily use.

The desktop looks sharp and runs fast. Battery life on supported Intel hardware drops to around 2W idle. But the workflow demands time and patience to learn.

Windows 11 26H2 arrives later this year as one of the smallest annual upgrades Microsoft has shipped. Most supported PCs already hold the code on disk, so Windows Update flips it on with a small enablement package and one restart.

If you still run Windows 11 24H2, note the deadline: Home and Pro support ends 13 October 2026. Move to a newer release before then to keep receiving security updates.
