We're seeking an experienced Field Technician to join our team, delivering technical support to our various clients across JHB.
IT Support Technician (Onsite and Offsite)
Greenstone Hill and surrounds
Full-time
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication, and a customer-centric approach.
- Client sites to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues ranging from Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
- Respond to remote support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system.
- Monitor and maintain client networks, systems, and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair computer systems, peripherals, and network devices.
- Ensure system security, backups, and antivirus measures.
- Document client interactions, issues, and resolutions.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) is beneficial.
Client Communication:
1. Provide clear explanations of technical issues and solutions.
2. Communicate effectively with clients, both verbally and in writing.
3. Manage client expectations, ensuring timely issue resolution.
Administrative Tasks:
1. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and issue resolutions.
2. Update ticketing system, tracking progress and resolution.
3. Participate in team meetings, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Requirements:
1. 4+ years of IT support experience.
2. CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certifications.
3. Proficiency in Windows, Mac OS, mobile devices, and software applications.
4. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. CompTIA, or equivalent certifications.
2. Experience with cloud services (MS365).
3. Familiarity with IT service management tools
4. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
