This is a digital phone. If you want to break away from POTS then you can have a phone connected to your router on the network system.
You will need to have a subscription to a digital service provider
You will then set up your phone and get a new phone number.
I can advise on phones and service providers if this is required

If you have read my posts previously I must
Apologise first for not posting in a long time.
My health took a bad turn but I am on my way
Back with valuable insight into the technology
Which controls our lives every day.
I have to confess I haven’t ever said anything
About our smart phones but almost all of
us own or have access to a cell phone.
Phones today are mini computers and most of them can do everything a computer can do.
All of the cell phones are driven by a
Processor similar to that installed in a desktop
Or laptop computer.
The manufacturers, however, of these processors focus on the smartphones
and tablets and do not manufacture
Computer processors.
Most of us worry about the following aspects
Of our smart phone experience
Graphic quality - for games and videos
Speed - all functions and apps on the phone rely on the processor to be as fast as possible.
Battery life - how long can the phone run for on a single charge and also how long does it take to charge
Connectivity - Bluetooth and wireless, the ability to connect to as many different devices as possible.
I will tackle each of these aspects in separate future posts.

Happy 2021 to all my readers. In this time of crisis. Communicating with either a phone, tablet or computer is essential. It’s not even a nice to have anymore.
It is possible to do everything on a smartphone that previously required a laptop.
You can now write letters, create spreadsheets,
Watch videos and connect remotely to a customers device to solve their problems.
I can see, there will come a day, when the only device that business people and your average man in the street will only have a smartphone as his device of choice.
Obviously there is the hardcore gamer who will never substitute his powerful desktop or laptop for a smartphone but

DFC Intelligence says their are 3.1 billion gamers worldwide, 48% of them are PC gamers -- meaning there are over 1.5 billion PC gamers.Aug 18, 2020.

So 1.5 Billion of the worlds gamers use a desktop computer so they can never be ruled out.

The general public, including myself, sometimed, think that it is OK to have some form of haphazard system for controlling their financials. Small to medium to large businesses have to have an accounting system because they are accountable to their suppliers, customers, themselves and to Mr Taxman.

Hi Guys, they always say that pictures are better than words. A great example are the pictures below.
From left to right
Left / a full top view of what a laptop looks like under the keyboard. Notice the little fan which is designed to divert the heat generated by the internal processing unit to outside of the laptop. Many people are concerned about the heat which they feel coming out of the side of the laptop. This is the hot air diverted from the CPU and should be expected.
Right Top/ this is the Hard Drive or the unit where all your data is stored.
Middle Right/ A focused view of the fan
Bottom Right/ This is the battery which is now enclosed along with all the other working parts of the laptop.
This is just a brief overview of some of the hidden parts of your laptop for those who would love to know what is under the hood😀

With the virus lock down in full force there is
Not much needed to be said about the situation.
Digital communication in all its forms are
Suddenly more important than ever before.
Households
Schools
Business
Churches
Medical practitioners
Are all conducting there practices via the
Internet and other VPN applications.

I’ll concentrate on Teachers roles here because my wife is teaching whole classes
Mathematics from her office at home.

The School had the foresight to install Microsoft Teams on their server and now
All of the teachers are teaching all subjects from home,

It is very important that the end user has a stable internet connection because the application uses video/voice and a whiteboard system.

If the internet is problematic one will have endless problems with sketchy video and scratchy sound.

Everyone has had their say about the times we are living in. What a wake-up call, we are so lucky that experts are expecting a future at all after the virus runs its course.

Mankind does not deserve a second chance after the never ending r**e of our land, woman and children and our best friends the animals.

God is merciful, he died on the cross for our sins and we take advantage of this knowledge to destroy his creation one tragedy at a time.

We expect to wake up to a new morning everyday and go about our business as usual without a thought for our creator.

This may be our last warning so make peace with your maker. Love your neighbour and your animals and refrain from destroying your universe

Hi Guys,
There are two major players in the computer processor market, these being Intel and AMD.
Intel have had the edge from the beginning of processor manufacturing. In 1974.
Interesting to note that only 2% of processors are used for laptop and Desktop computers the rest are used in household appliances, motor vehicles and industrial products. 10 billion processors were sold in 2008.
More recently AMD have introduced Processors which more than match the power of Intels offerings and it is not a foregone conclusion as to which processor should be used in your computer. Currently the highest rated CPU’s are intels i9700 and AMD’ Ryzens “Threadripper”. More about this in a future post, take care 😀😀
