We got a shiny new piece of equipment in the office recently: the awesome Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16K.🤩 This printer is the latest addition to the Elegoo Saturn range and boasts some impressive upgrades, so our resident resin expert Jarrid just had to unbox and test it.👀

We compared the specifications to two popular Creality resin printers and found a host of features that make the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra even easier to use. There was just too much to say in one post, so we wrote a full blog.

Intrigued?🧐

Ahoy, maker mateys! Are ye ready for a bit of pirate fun? Tomorrow is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and we couldn't just let it pass us by!

The whole tradition actually started back in 1995 when two friends, John Baur and Mark Summers, were playing a racquetball game and decided things were getting way too serious. One of them got hurt and yelled out like a pirate, and boom—a wonderfully bizarre holiday was born. Years later, it's turned into a global phenomenon, and of course, we couldn't sit this one out.

Tom decided to roll up his sleeves and 3D print this awesome little pirate parrot. The paintwork took way longer than expected, though—long enough for him to watch the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie a whole one and a half times while working on it!

True to captain form, our new feathered friend immediately commandeered a whole fleet of printed Benchys.

May you all enjoy a wonderful weekend filled with everything that gives you joy, and if that means talking like a pirate, you go right ahead; tomorrow is the day for it!

Check out this awesome project we’ve been helping out with! 🤖🇿🇦

MarsDrive Systems—a team of 3 UKZN engineering students—are gearing up for the Cars4Mars African Rover Challenge final stage this week!

Their 6-wheel rover uses a blend of aluminum extrusions and custom 3D printed brackets, mounts, and gear to tackle rough Martian-style terrain. They’ve been in full crunch mode getting the wheels, wiring, and code dialed in for the final push.
