The Black Information Technology Forum is an association of Black individuals formed specifically to address the poor representation of Blacks in the Information and Communications Technology industry as both professionals and business operators. The BITF has a total membership base of approximately 1500 IT professionals nationally and 100 student members. Mission

The mission of the

BITF is to propel Black people into the mainstream of the ICTE industry in South Africa. Aims of the BITF
Empower members with technical and business skills
Make BITF members significant role players within the ICTE sector
Improve access to technology by the disadvantaged communities
Actively influence policy making fora
Promote the status of historically disadvantaged individuals and communities in the ICTE sector. Membership

Membership to the BITF is available on two levels: Professional and Student membership. Benefits include access to the highest quality fora for networking opportunities with experienced professionals and government officials. Additional benefits are provided by the BITF through our strategic partnerships with top businesses and affiliate organizations dedicated to helping us achieve our mission of connecting our members with an unsurpassed level of resources and education. All applicants are required to support the mission and vision of the BITF and uphold the organisation's code of ethics.
