ICASA Services
Type Approval Certification (TTE, RF Equipment, Simplified, Labels, Provisional Type Approval)

Radio Frequency Spectrum (Amateur, aircraft, marine (includes coastal stations, beacons, ship stations – VHF and Inmarsat satellite terminals), ski-boat (29Mhz), base/mobile, simplex, experimental, trial/test, demonstration, paging, message handling, relay, private and communal repeater, telemetry, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links (below and above 1 GHz), alarm monitoring, satellite (uplinks VSAT, SNG) and Radio Dealer Certification).

ECS / ECNS Licensing & Regulatory Compliance

A Class ECNS Licence allows the holder to roll out and operate an electronic communications network in a district or local municipality. In other words, the licensee will choose to work in a municipal area and provide access services to consumers in that area.

This is the form of license required by operators wanting to set up their network focusing on a smaller area.

A Class ECS License, on the other hand, allows the holder to provide the same services as the Individual ECS license, except for voice services requiring numbers from the National Numbering Plan, in a district or local municipality

Individual ECS/ECNS License Applications

An Individual ECS License allows the holder to provide services to customers over the network of an ECNS licensee, including voice or VoIP services that use numbers taken from the National Numbering Plan, nationwide or across a province.

Whereas an Individual ECNS License allows the holder to roll out and operate an electronic communications network nationwide or across a province.
