How do you start your own business?

1. Go online to the website of CIPC and register a new company for R175, registration is R125 and the name is R50.

- Go to your nearest internet cafe with your certified ID copy in USB, have an active email address or use your smartphone.

The money you will deposit via their bank details found on the website.

They will do BBBEE for you for free and all other business documents.

2. Go to SARS, do a tax clearance for free.

3. Go to FNB do a business bank account for R500. Or ABSA they even have R250 option.

4. Go to your nearest Seda ask them to do a business plan for you, for free. Plus other trainings that might be relevant to your field.

5. Go online, register on the CSD, for free.

6. Go to your municipality and ask them to register you on their database as a supplier, for free.

7. Go to your nearest NYDA, attend their financial management short course for a minimum of 5 weeks (once a week), for free.

8. Apply for the NYDA funding for free. They can give you equipment of up to R50 000, for free.

You don't pay it back.

9. Hire people and register for COIDA, Letter of good standing at the Department of Labour.

10. Do business and upgrade it with marketing and branding.

Its been 4 months of planning, countless meetings and long cold nights but the day has come that we are finally ready to plant the first seedlings at the GrowBox Urban Farmers' Market.

The first phase of the greater vision, of a Community Farmer's Market, is the urban farm situated within Hanover Park.

We have pushed through strong gale force winds and heavy rains but the area for the farm is finally clear and ready for planting.

Many thanks to African Artists for Development for supporting this project and partnering with us to implement in within Hanover Park. Their unwavering support for grassroots projects has been the catalyst that has created social impact across Africa.

We are incredibly excited to host Vannie Hanover Park, , Impact and Sustainable Solutions (YISSA), The Fairy Godmother Project: Cape Town, to the farm. These are exceptional organisations doing phenomenal work within Hanover Park. Together with their members, they will be helping us plant our first vegetable crops.

HOW TO BUILD A HEALTHIER PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY SANDWICH
Ultimately, not all PB & J sandwiches are created equally, follow these easy steps to make sure you’re getting the most nutritional punch out of this classic comfort food!

100% WHOLE GRAIN BREAD
Choose nutrient-dense 100% whole grain bread. Be careful here. This is one of the most common misleading food label tricks!

NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER
Get pure natural peanut butter. (Ingredients should be salt and peanut butter, that’s it. See How to Eat More Real Food)
NOT TOO MUCH, NOT TOO LITTLE PEANUT BUTTER
Make sure you have 1-2 tablespoons in your sandwich. No less, because you won’t feel full enough, no more because peanut butter is calorie-dense. (See How to Eat More Healthy Fats)

LOW SUGAR JAM OR FRUIT OR USE LESS

ADD PROTEIN

We aim to sterilize 80 dogs/cats in rural Paarl. We need to raise money for deworming, mange treatment, tick/flea treatment, vaccinations, tests & other medical procedures. Food, bowls, blankets, kennels & volunteers also needed.

Envirovet CVC will do sterilizations at an average of R400 per sterilization. On the day each furkid will receive food to take home, vaccinations and tick/flea treatment. Mange treatment and other medical procedures where needed. Cats will be tested for FEL-V and FIV. We would also like to provide each one with a blanket. Follow up visits will entail deworming, removal of stitches and placing them on our support & maintenance program.
