We launched ICASAsePush with one purpose: to connect South Africans who had been left behind. We believed Sparkling* could make that possible — and we still do.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen the real impact: families reconnected, small businesses empowered, and rural communities finally online. We’ve helped where others couldn’t — or wouldn’t. And we are proud of that.
But today, our presence may be doing more harm than good. The national conversation has shifted. Our efforts are now seen by some as disruptive to the broader movement — and we won’t let that slow progress.
That’s why we’ve made the decision to step back from the market. Not in defeat — but in service of the bigger picture. If our absence helps clear the way for a formal Sparkling* rollout in South Africa, then it’s the right move.
To our community — our Sparklers* — thank you. You’ve been bold, brave, and brilliant. Your stories fuelled this mission, and your support gave it life. We’re proud of what we built together.
We’ll keep advocating behind the scenes for . Because access to affordable, high-speed internet should never be a privilege. It should be a basic right.
We still believe that change for good is coming.
