🚨 URGENT: Have you secured your WhatsApp?
We are seeing a massive wave of WhatsApp account hacks and takeovers going around.
Scammers are successfully locking people out of their profiles and using their identities to trick friends, family, and coworkers into sending money or clicking malicious links.
If you haven’t checked your settings lately, your account could be vulnerable. Protecting your account takes less than 3 minutes, and it could save you, and your contacts, from a major headache.
🛡️ Quick 3-Step Safety Checklist:
• Turn on Two-Step Verification: Go to Settings > Account > Two-Step Verification and set up a unique 6-digit PIN. Never share this PIN or your SMS code with anyone.
• Check Your Linked Devices: Go to Settings > Linked Devices right now. If you see any computers or browser sessions logged in that you don't recognize, tap and log them out immediately.
• Lock the App: Turn on biometric locks (Face ID or Fingerprint) under your privacy settings so nobody can open your chats if they pick up your physical phone.
Got a weird message asking for money or emergency cash, even if it looks like it's from a close friend? Stop, pick up the phone, and call them directly to verify before you send anything.
