Gladwin Zar is an Exceptionally talented Dance Afro DJ, Based in Carletonville, SOUTH AFRICA Gladwin Zar plays exciting sets that inspire people to be in the moment, dance and party hard. He is one of the versatile DJs in the world, spinning mainly House music.

He knows what people want on the dance floor and he delivers it with an incredible stage presence. He treats each show like a unique experience and taps into the mood of each audience he performs for.

AL­THOUGH he has no for­mal qual­i­fi­ca­tion, a young busi­ness­man has not let this get in his way of work­ing as a Graphic Designer . Gladwin Mgwandi is the owner of Gladwin Zar (Pty)Ltd, which of­fers Graphic Design Solutions & DJ Services.

UN­FOR­TU­NATE CIRCUMSTANCES

Gladwin was born in Carletonville, And also raised in Carletonville, where he ma­tric­u­lated from Relebogile Secondary School.

Af­ter ma­tric, he took a gap year and worked at a Printing Shop to as­sist his fam­ily. He has al­ways been tal­ented at draw­ing sketches and wanted to study Graphic Design , but couldn’t due to fi­nan­cial dif­fi­cul­ties. Gladwin was meant to study in Australia, but his passion for graphics and Deejaying turned thing around.

TOUGH TIMES

Af­ter re­sign­ing, I met few guys that are very good in the industry they where re­ally im­pressed with my draw­ings others started booking me of events. they showed me the ropes of the industry.”

START­ING HIS OWN BUSI­NESS

Gladwin, who works from home, makes money by at­tract­ing clients on so­cial me­dia.

“I show­case my work on all my so­cial me­dia pages that I named King Gladwin Zar. My high school teach­ers used to say I al­ways had an­swers for ev­ery­thing, at school where learn­ers al­ways con­sid­ered me as a money making machine and that’s where I got the name.”

He started Gladwin Zar (Pty)Ltd . “I wanted to fo­cus on draw­ing and sell­ing my de­signs,” he says.

Having my services needed left right and centre also demoted that desire due to high demand of my time designing for clients not myself.

“Well some don’t be­lieve in my work. They think I am just a scam­mer who googles de­signs and edit them. They don’t un­der­stand that I did my re­search and also have knowl­edge.”

His fu­ture goal is to have a one stop digital printing shop and media school around Merafong.

I'll never give up on my dream.
