raxterworks

raxterworks raxterworks is an indie game company in the making. Run by Richard Baxter, he spends his time implementing s**t that is fun

So raxterworks, I am hoping, will be the home of my company to be. I say company, it's really just me making games and things that I like and hope you like too. If it gets big enough I'll make it an official company and such, but even that thought is getting too far ahead of myself. In short, I make games, or tools for people who make games, raxterworks is the housing in which I shall do this in.

Hello trippers!

If you've upgraded your Oculus runtime you would have noticed that Trip the Light Fantastic 0.5 would have been broken.

It's been a busy ol' few months but I've finally been able to update the build to use the new runtime

So while you are waiting for the new Oculus to ship you can at least still have fun on your DK2 : p

Here's to 2016 seeing some more significant changes to the game!

A game about exploring a vast, ever changing fractal space.

This week saw Trip the Light Fantastic at PGA/GIC in Poznan, Poland!

This was the first consumer based event it's been to and it was received really well! Super pumped for the future and taking this proof of concept to the next stage! (when we find time : p)

Thanks to all my Polish friends, old and new for inviting me along to join them by their booths. Special thanks to Lichthund (Bartek and Rafal) who have a friggin awesome and original game Lichtspeer which everyone should try out!

Much love, wonderful people

And in further news, Anja (who I'm working on Sadcat with) is featured today! :D

Unsatisfied that her dual interests in science and art were always perceived as binary, Anja Venter has channelled her fascination with culture and technology into a career path all her own.

Hi all!

Been a fun few weeks for raxterworks! Mainly been on holiday un-burning-out but found some time to finish up some of the feedback on 6x Mass Production

Have posted it on TIGSource and MGSA. Feel free to give it a shot!

In the first round of testing I was looking for what was confusing and general level progression. It went well! I feel that it's in a good place. Now comes the scary part. Seeing if there is an audience for it! I admit that if the answer is "no" that I might have to move on to something else (it has been a long ride after all). But it started as a learning project and if it end like that then it has done its job!

Sooooo, anyone know anyone who wants to play a challenging puzzle game? :p

This is still in alpha, so if you get stuck or confused at anything I've probably designed it wrong! Tell me if you do get stuck, your feedback is more valuable to me than you know!

Will be showing off 6x Mass Production at the local Make Games South Africa meetup tonight. Would love for you all to try it out (and watch me cringe as I realize I didn't implement that one thing quite right :o )

Eitherway, ought to be a great night :D
