MICROSOFT HAS EXPANDED ITS XDR/MDR CAPABILITY.

For MSPs, this is more than a technology update.
It is a service-design signal.

As security platforms become more capable at detecting, correlating and responding to threats, simply “monitoring security tools” becomes less differentiated.

The opportunity is moving higher:
Monitoring → Response → Recovery → Resilience → Business Advisory

So the question for MSPs is no longer just:
❌ “What technology do we provide?”

It is:
✅ “Where do we add value that the platform cannot provide on its own?”

AND...

✅ “How do we turn that value into a service we can deliver, scale and sell?”

👉 Swipe through for the 4️⃣ things MSPs should do about it.

Better XDR does not make the MSP less relevant.
It raises the standard of what a valuable MSP needs to become.

🚨 A major infrastructure opportunity is opening up for MSPs.

For years, MSPs have helped customers manage workloads sitting on somebody else’s infrastructure.

But the infrastructure conversation is changing.

Customers are questioning legacy virtualisation costs.
They’re reconsidering hyperscaler complexity.
They want greater control over where workloads live.
And increasingly, they expect protection to be built into the service — not bolted on afterwards.

Enter Acronis Cyber Frame.

A secure HCI and Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform built specifically for service providers.

It brings together:

→ Virtual machines
→ Networking
→ Block and object storage
→ Multitenancy and customer self-service
→ Backup and disaster recovery
→ Cybersecurity and RMM
→ Infrastructure automation

within one Acronis service ecosystem.

And that changes the opportunity for MSPs.

Instead of simply managing customer infrastructure, you can begin building your own protected infrastructure services around it.

Cyber Frame can support MSPs looking to:

🔹 Modernise VMware-based environments
🔹 Repatriate selected workloads from hyperscalers
🔹 Build provider-branded multitenant cloud services
🔹 Deliver regional or controlled infrastructure
🔹 Host business applications and development environments
🔹 Create infrastructure for private AI, RAG and automation workloads.

🤌 Your infrastructure. Your service. Your revenue.

YOUR CLIENT ISN’T REALLY BUYING BACKUP.
THEY’RE BUYING THE ABILITY TO KEEP THEIR PROMISES. 🤝

Every MSP conversation about data protection eventually comes back to something bigger than data.

👉 TRUST 👈

Because when a client loses access to critical information, the impact doesn’t stop at the server, application or cloud environment.

It moves through the business:

Data loss

Operational disruption

Missed deadlines and unavailable services

Frustrated customers

Questions about reliability

Loss of confidence

And once trust is damaged, restoring a backup is only part of the recovery.

This is where MSPs have an opportunity to change the conversation. 🤌

Instead of asking:
“Do you have backup?”

Ask:
“If this system went down tomorrow, how quickly would your business need to recover before your customers started feeling the impact?”

Then go further:

🧐 Which systems support your most important customer promises?
🧐 How much data could you realistically afford to lose?
🧐 How long could those systems be unavailable?
🧐 Who is responsible for confirming that recovery actually works?
🧐 When was the last time that recovery process was tested?

Because the real value of cyber protection isn’t simply storing another copy of the data.

It is protecting the organisation’s ability to operate, recover and remain dependable when something goes wrong.

That is the conversation that moves an MSP from technology provider to strategic business partner.

🙅 Don’t sell backup.
✅ Diagnose what the business cannot afford to lose.

MSPs don’t build trust by having all the answers.

They build trust by asking better questions.

Because before you talk about backup platforms, licensing or storage, you need to understand what the client actually stands to lose.

❓ What data keeps the business running?

❓Who is truly responsible for protecting it?

❓How far back might they need to recover after deletion, corruption or ransomware?

❓How long could they operate without access to it?

❓And when was recovery last tested successfully?

These aren’t technical questions.

They’re business continuity questions.

And they can quickly reveal blind spots around recovery, retention, ransomware exposure, business-critical SaaS data and backup responsibility that a client may not even know exists.

The MSP that leads these conversations becomes more than a technology provider.

They become a strategic resilience partner.

✅ Use these five questions in your next client review.

Which do you think often uncovers the biggest blind spot?

There’s a dangerous assumption sitting inside many businesses:

“Our data is in the cloud, so it’s protected.”

❌ Not necessarily.

Your cloud provider may keep the platform available.

But availability is not the same as recoverability.

🫣 A critical folder gets permanently deleted.

🫣 Ransomware compromises your data.

🫣 An administrator account is breached.

🫣 A retention policy is incorrectly configured.

The cloud may still be running perfectly.

Your business may not be.

That is why leadership needs to understand the difference between keeping systems online and being able to recover the information the organisation depends on.

Because the real test of resilience isn’t whether your technology works on a normal Monday morning. 👉 It’s whether your business can recover when it doesn’t.

So here’s the question worth taking into your next leadership meeting: "If critical cloud data disappeared tomorrow, who owns the recovery—and how quickly could your business get it back?"

We hope the women in our community enjoyed a well-deserved day of rest, celebration and connection yesterday.

But perhaps one of the most meaningful ways we can honour National Women’s Day is by remembering that recognition shouldn’t be reserved for one day of the year.

Every day, women are building businesses, leading teams, solving problems, raising families, creating opportunities, challenging convention and quietly making things happen. 💪

And across the technology and cybersecurity landscape, women are helping organisations become stronger too — bringing new perspectives to complex problems, building more resilient businesses and helping create digital environments where people, information and ideas can operate safely.

👉 Because resilience isn’t only about the technology we put in place. It’s also about the people, perspectives and cultures we build around it. 🫶

At Soteria Cloud, we believe strong organisations are built by people — by different experiences, perspectives and ideas, and by individuals being given the opportunity to contribute meaningfully.

So, to the women within our team, our partner community, our industry, and our lives:

We hope yesterday gave you a moment to rest.

We hope today reminds you that your contribution matters.

And we hope that long after National Women’s Day has passed, we continue building workplaces, industries and communities where women are heard, supported, respected and empowered to lead.

Because National Women’s Day may come once a year… But valuing women should happen every day. 🙌

07/08/2026

When organisations think about cloud backup, they often think about storage capacity, retention periods and recovery points.

But business leaders should be asking a different question.

❓ "What happens to our reputation if we can't recover?"

Every email.
Every customer record.
Every contract.
Every financial document.

🤝 Each one represents a promise made to someone.

When that information becomes unavailable, the consequences extend far beyond technology.

Trust begins to erode.

❌ Customers lose confidence.
❌ Employees lose momentum.
❌ Leadership loses certainty.
❌ Regulators demand answers.

This is why cloud protection isn't simply an IT investment.

It is a business resilience strategy.

The organisations that recover fastest are often the organisations that retain the confidence of their customers, partners and employees.

Because in today's digital economy...

The real asset isn't your data.
** It's the trust your data enables. **

👉 If your Microsoft 365 environment became unavailable tomorrow, how quickly could your business recover—and would your customers notice?

05/08/2026

Microsoft 365 keeps your clients' businesses running. It doesn't necessarily guarantee their data can always be recovered.

This remains one of the most common—and costly—misunderstandings organisations have about Microsoft 365.

As an MSP, this presents an opportunity to educate clients on the difference between platform availability and data recoverability.

Microsoft 365 delivers world-class productivity, collaboration, and platform resilience. But protecting your clients against accidental deletion, ransomware, malicious insiders, or long-term data loss requires a dedicated backup strategy.

These are the questions every MSP should be asking their clients:

• If an employee permanently deletes a critical folder today, how quickly could you restore it?

• If ransomware encrypts your client's SharePoint or OneDrive data, do they have an independent, clean copy?

• Are they meeting their retention, governance, and compliance requirements?

Business resilience isn't measured by whether applications stay online.

It's measured by how quickly organisations can recover the information they depend on.

The most valuable MSPs don't just keep systems running—they help clients build resilience when the unexpected happens.

Productivity and protection are not the same thing. Every client needs both.
