Please beware of Facebook ads that advertises goods for very cheap. Like a massive hit for example is the laser engraving machine. It costs around R190. At first you saw the comments right? saying they got the machine and had to assemble it. Those are fake reviews. Trust me. So here is how things goes after you tap on the advert. Here is where everything goes south. As you go through the checkout process you get transferred to one domain(website name) after the other. Until they ask for your card details. This website even has Trust pilot reviews, also fake. How do you know?Tap on the Trust pilot reviews and you will see nothing happens. It's because it's not real reviews. It's complicated but just trust me. The checkout process says the payment would be facilitated via stripe. It's certainly not facilitated by stripe. The reason being once you checkout and pay for your item you will see a series of deductions from your bank account. So what happened? You have been scammed. Your money is stolen. It's one of the best scams I have seen in a while. I also noticed that as soon as Facebook blocks the advert after a few days the same advert gets placed by several other profiles, also fake. In all cases the advert showed "sponsored" meaning someone has placed an advert through Facebook and circumvented their security checks and the only person who lost is you. Please share with family and friends as they might end up losing a hefty sum of money. The scammers take much more than just R190. Feel free to reach out so I can see how we can all get it reported since Facebook will do nothing to track down people scamming their users.
