If you’re running an online store in South Africa, you already know the drill:
- One courier for main centres.
- Another for outlying areas.
- A third because the first two don’t do same day.

Somewhere in there you’re also manually comparing rates and copying tracking numbers into emails at 10pm.

One platform. Over 20 couriers. Live rates at checkout, tracking your customers can actually follow and delivery data you can report on without a confusing spreadsheet.

Meet Acorn Kids Head Office. Female owned and home to over four hundred agents, mostly women, who sell children’s educational and sensory bath products in their communities.

That number is worth sitting with. Four hundred women earning. Four hundred households supported. Four hundred small businesses that did not exist by accident but because Acorn Kids built a model that made room for them.

This is what Women’s Month looks like when it goes past the caption: real income, real customers, real ambition.

Shiprazor is proud to be the courier aggregator moving their parcels. Behind every agent’s sale is a delivery that has to arrive and doing that well is our small part in a much bigger story.

Happy Women’s Day to every woman selling, shipping, packing and building 💜

Shipping isn’t just about moving parcels. It’s about creating reliable customer experiences.

As businesses scale, logistics become increasingly complex. Multiple courier partners, fragmented systems, delivery exceptions, and customer expectations can quickly turn operations into a challenge.

Shiprazor simplifies the entire shipping journey through a single, intelligent platform, helping businesses automate workflows, improve delivery performance, and gain complete visibility across every shipment.

Built for businesses that are ready to scale with confidence.

A home baker can spend six hours on a cake and lose it in the last twenty minutes. It arrives leaning, or the icing has gone soft in a hot boot, and the photo the customer sends says more than the review will.

Baked goods carry a deadline from the moment they leave the oven. Freshness is part of the product, so anything that slows the trip is quietly taking value off the thing you sold.

Most of that is decided before a single order goes out. Work out how far you can deliver before quality slips, and never promise past that line. Set cut-offs you can honestly hold, because a same-day order taken at 4pm is a disappointment with a delay on it. Pack for the road rather than the shelf: stable base, snug walls, nothing loose, and real protection on anything that melts or sweats.

Then there’s the trip itself, the part most bakers hand to a driver and hope goes well. Shiprazor keeps that decision with you. Local orders can go out on TFS On Demand and land at the door in around thirty minutes, give or take, while anything further out gets compared across couriers in the same dashboard so you’re picking the quickest reliable one rather than the only one.

Fresh on arrival, order after order, is what turns a one-off treat into a standing weekly order. The bakers who build repeat customers are the ones who treat the delivery as part of the bake.

What delivery really costs a South African store and what it should actually be costing.

Angus LePine-Williams, Head of Operations, presents “The Profit Leakage Playbook for South African eCommerce”.
Failed deliveries, returns and courier rates that nobody has looked at in two years. He’ll be discussing where the margin quietly goes and how to close the gaps.

Two sessions, both built around the numbers merchants recognise from their own back office.

A customer wants to return an item, and the policy page offers nothing more than “contact us”. From that moment, every return becomes a negotiation.

Vague policies read as friendly, yet they carry a real cost. Every grey area invites a dispute: who pays for the return, what counts as used or whether the window has closed. The seller concedes more often than not, and the margin goes with it.

Returns are inevitable. What they cost is within your control, and the policy is where that control begins.

Somewhere in your DMs there’s a message that reads “do you ship to the UK?” and an SA seller typing back a polite no.

The order is real and the money is real. What kills it is everything in between: customs, duties, couriers you’ve never worked with, forms you’ve never had to fill in. It reads like a mission, so the sale gets turned away.

Shiprazor was built to take that wall down. An international parcel gets booked the same way a local one does. Courier options for the destination sit side by side with rates and timelines, the paperwork comes together during the booking, and your buyer watches the parcel move from the moment it ships.

A store that says yes to one order from abroad usually finds the second arrives sooner than expected. Growth tends to follow the sellers who stop treating borders as a reason to decline.

Each year, Mandela Day calls on all of us to give 67 minutes in service of others.

In that spirit, the Shiprazor team partnered with Bathu to donate school shoes to learners at Garden Village Primary School in Cape Town. An estimated 7 million children in South Africa have never owned a pair of school shoes.

Sitting in these classrooms are future teachers, engineers and founders, and they should get to walk there comfortably.

Every Bathu box carries the same message: Follow Your Dreams. We can’t think of a better one to hand a child.

A big thank you to Bathu for partnering with us, and to the teachers and learners who welcomed us into their school. Small acts of kindness, lasting impact.
