The Faculty of Law encourages both undergraduate and postgraduate students to explore and apply for external bursary opportunities available to Law students.

Opening of the 2027 Study Application

The Amandla Omoya Trust supports education and community development by helping eligible students access further learning opportunities. The bursary programme is managed by StudyTrust, which handles the online application process and guides applicants through the required steps.

The programme is designed to assist students who show potential but may not have enough financial support to pay for their studies. It helps remove one of the biggest barriers facing many young South Africans.
The Amandla Omoya Trust is a community trust that owns shares in the Jeffreys Bay Wind farm for the benefit of communities within a 50-kilometre radius of the farm. It believes that everyone in its communities should have an opportunity to reach their dreams. One way that the Trust expresses this, is by empowering individuals to advance.

The Amandla Omoya Trust is offering individuals an opportunity to study further at South African tertiary education or training institutions including public or private TVET colleges, universities of technology or academic universities.

Prospective students studying towards a NQF level 6 in technical, skills training (plumbing, bricklaying etc.) and training programmes, as well as national diploma and degree programmes are invited to apply as well. Those who completed their NSC or NTC in previous years may also apply. The Trust's bursaries are managed by StudyTrust.
Applications must be completed on StudyTrust’s online application platform to be considered for a bursary for the next year.
We are also accepting hardcopy application forms. The completed application form must be submitted to [email protected] if you want to be considered for an Amandla Omoya Trust bursary.
Closing date
Application Season: 01 June to 30 September.
