The Return of the Arab Priest.
Every five years, Irma Stern’s ‘Arab Priest’ travels back to South Africa from the in Qatar. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to engage with questions of nationhood, belonging, memory and the politics of cultural return. The exhibition opening at was delayed due to the conflict in the Middle East, but the painting is here now, and open to the public until September, when it will be moved to in Cape Town.

We were delighted to assist with a design to display this wonderful painting. The painting appears to float in space, as the glass easel allows visitors to appreciate all aspects of the painting and its frame (an artwork in itself) It is the result of a collaboration with and and beautifully illuminated by

This unspoiled landscape conserves a rich variety of plants and animals and supports the local community, illustrating the vital connection between people and nature and the importance of maintaining balance. The exhibition seamlessly integrates CAPS school syllabus components, making it an effective learning supplement for visiting schools. The fabrication and design process incorporated advanced technologies such as resin 3D printing, multi-planar laser cutting, LiDAR scanning, CNC cutting, and direct-to-substrate printing in order to achieve a distinctive three-dimensional and tactile quality. This exhibition was designed and developed by Office 24-7 Architecture for the Lapalala Wilderness School with a dedicated exhibition team consisting of Nabeel Essa, Lauren Segal, Alexey Rodokanakis, Samke Kunene, Adriénne van den Heever, Jaco van den Heever, Renay Kneale, and Caela Wessels. 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 brings together artworks that engage directly with material, surface and process. Presented alongside the breaking of ground for Keyes Art Mile 2.0, the exhibition focuses on how artists work with earth-based and industrial substances to shape form, meaning and place.

Display case maintenance and upgrades. A few years ago we performed a major upgrade to these wall cases that were installed in 2006.
Since the carcasses had been constructed from MDF, we sealed them with Dacrylate, and wrapped the dress panels in Marvelseal as a barrier film, before stitching on a museum grade fabric. When displaying organic materials such as leather, wood and eggshells these details matter.

This week we have been updating text, numbering and allowing the curators to perform light maintenance to some of the objects across 4 cases. With

Rework of a large museum installation ‘Double Vision’ by .skotnes and .payne after 20 years on display.

As always the devil is in the detail and several products contribute to the final outcome:

• Our LED product that delivers consistent results with a very high CRI that exceeds 95, resulting in crisp, realistic colour.
• The use of ultra-matte paint that ensures the flattest backdrop to the artwork, even with the punchiest of colours.
• The black lining to the skeleton compartments; our secret sauce fabric and paint from Japan with a 0.5% light reflectance rate, making the bone float in its surrounds.

Thank you to the team at Origins Centre for trusting us with another exhibit upgrade! Thanks to and for your guidance and support.
