CEO of Innovator Trust, Tashline Jooste, gave a powerful opening address on "Enabling SMME growth and scalability in the ICT sector."
Innovator Trust is driven by a passion for small business development and a burning desire to empower entrepreneurs to reach their fullest potential.
It is during challenging times that our true potential emerges. And we have had quite a few challenges, such as Covid, interest rate hike, load shedding, to name a few.
Challenges are what define us as a people, they test our mettle, ignite our creativity, and propel us to new heights. And in the realm of ICT, where innovation knows no boundaries, it is our duty as a facilitator to incubation programmes, to ensure that SMMEs have the opportunities and support they need to flourish.
How do we enable the growth and scalability of SMMEs? Tashline states, "We need to create the platforms for networking, we need to be having more of these conversations, we need to be providing the holistic incubation programmes, support and enable digital transformation in small businesses, innovation and exposure to technology creates opportunities for our SMMEs to thrive in this economic climate.
But most importantly, we need to take a real interest in the people who are behind the business, the ones driving the machine and ensure we provide support that goes beyond Just the funding."
