🔬 ECHA’s Enforcement Forum has adopted its new work programme, setting the EU’s enforcement priorities for 2026–2027.

Key priorities include:
• Stronger controls on imports & online sales
• Continued focus on classification, labelling and risk-management measures
• Closer collaboration with enforcement authorities across sectors
The Forum also launched new projects, including:
• Preparations for REF-15, focusing on the safe use of chemicals in workplaces
• A pilot project supporting compliance with the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) Regulation

Members further exchanged insights from national enforcement campaigns and reviewed ongoing 2025 projects, such as REF-12 on imports and the pilot on poison centre notifications.

For companies placing chemicals on the EU market, these priorities signal where enforcement efforts will intensify and where proactive compliance will matter most.

🎉 The Innovation Fund is celebrating its 10th anniversary — and to mark the occasion, a special video has been created featuring testimonials from CEOs, entrepreneurs and founders of innovative companies it has supported over the past decade.

📽️ We’re proud to be part of this project. Our CEO, Michel Hemberg, will share how the Innovation Fund helped Lisam grow and why this kind of support is valuable for companies shaping the future of chemistry and life sciences.

💡 Created by Essenscia and François Cornelis, the Innovation Fund acts as a one-stop shop for startups and companies in Belgium’s chemical and life sciences sectors.

The video will be officially unveiled tomorrow, June 10, during the Innovation Fund’s General Assembly.

🙏 Thank you to the Innovation Fund for believing in our vision. Stay tuned!

🇺🇸 In December 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized its TSCA Risk Evaluation for Formaldehyde, a substance widely used in building materials, adhesives, and everyday products. The evaluation highlights serious health and environmental risks, such as respiratory issues, cancer, and pollution.

🔍 What does this mean for your business?
Preparing for these changes requires a clear understanding of the regulations and proactive steps to ensure compliance, such as reviewing product portfolios and updating Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

🇨🇳 We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with the National Registration Center of Chemicals (NRCC), under China’s Ministry of Emergency Management.
As China’s competent authority on hazardous chemical management, NRCC plays a key role in chemical registration, GHS classification, SDS inspections and maintaining national safety standards.

🤝 Our CEO, Michel Hemberg, along with Yunqing He and Lincoln Lin from our China team, have been actively working with NRCC to establish this significant partnership which will open up new opportunities for advancing chemical compliance and safety through joint initiatives.

Among these initiatives, we're pleased to announce the integration of the NRCC database into our SDS authoring software, ExESS, to further support customers placing products on the Chinese market.

Many thanks to the NRCC team for their valuable and actionable insights.

Stay tuned for updates as we continue to expand our global reach!
