“Ten years ago, GAP unveiled their new logo.

The first redesign in 24 years.

However, it didn't receive a great feedback as expected.

The internet was furious and girl, the online backlash was huuuuge.

Imagine being in a relationship with someone, everything was okay, and one day, they suddenly decide to COMPLETELY change who they are.

Terrible, right?

Within a week of their rebrand, things weren't looking good for Gap.

In the end, they came up with a last-minute strategy along the lines of:

“We were just kidding, this is actually the first stage of a crowdsourcing process to help us redesign our logo and our identity.”

In the end, they got out of it by reverting back to their old logo 😂

The cost of bad branding? Just over 100 million dollars.”

The lesson here is to create a brand that represents you, your product/service, something that you can stand behind.

The other lesson? To hire professionals, locally, that will get you noticed, get you the status rating above your competitors, someone who will stand behind your brand and be there to provide continuity and care!
