A subject returns for reassessment. What did you test last time? What was the configuration? What were the results?

Test History stores every session with its full setup. Filter by subject or test series name, find the session in seconds, and tap Re-run Tests. The previous protocol loads with your tests preloaded.

If a combination worked well, tap Create New Sequence and it becomes a reusable protocol for any subject going forward.

Small setup details can make a big difference in the accuracy of your assessments.

The ActivForce hand strap helps keep the device stable and aligned during testing, which supports more consistent force readings across repeated tests. It also reduces grip demand, making it easier to focus on positioning and technique.

It’s often used in lower-force setups such as shoulder internal/external rotation, cervical flexion/extension, and hip abduction —where positioning, alignment, and control all matter

Swipe through to see how the strap fits into the testing setup.

The difference between reliable data and unreliable data is often positioning.

A shoulder IR test with the arm at 90 degrees of abduction produces a different number than one at the side. Both are valid setups, but if your team isn't using the same one, the data isn't comparable.

The Assessment Library puts positioning references and test protocols for the most commonly performed strength and ROM tests directly in the app. Open an entry before you test. Confirm the setup. Run the test knowing the technique matches your last session and your colleague's next one.

Break tests tell you when a subject gives way. Make tests tell you what they can actually produce.

Break test outcomes depend on who's testing. Examiner strength and technique both influence the result. Switch practitioners and the number can change.

Make tests remove that variable. The subject pushes into fixed resistance. The force output is theirs and it's comparable session to session.

ActivForce protocols are built on make test methodology because the data you collect needs to hold up at reassessment and across your team.

It looks like post-surgical stiffness. It’s actually bone forming in the soft tissue.

Heterotopic ossification after total hip replacement gets missed because the early signs mirror routine recovery. And when it does, the rehab approach that should be helping can make it worse.
danielstewartpt and Matthew McDermott (Nuffield Health, Tottenham Hotspur FC Academy, Team GB Canoe Slalom) break it down in this 50-minute episode of Investigating Injuries.

From the classroom to the clinic to the field — objective strength testing is becoming the standard.

It's shaping how PT students carry skills into clinical rotations, raising the bar for what belongs in the curriculum, and guiding return-to-play decisions for professional athletes. At every level of practice, the data removes the guesswork — and that's what confident, defensible clinical decision-making looks like.

Calling all clinicians, educators, and PT students 👇

We’re proud to support USC BKN & PT for an upcoming course on instrumented strength testing — going beyond the basics of hand-held dynamometry to help you build real clinical skills.

You’ll walk away knowing how to:
✔️ Understand the reliability and validity of HHD
✔️ Evaluate its clinical utility across settings
✔️ Build assessment and documentation strategies using objective data

Designed for clinicians who want precision, not guesswork.

Consistent protocols. Comparable data. Every session.

Test Sequences lets you build your most-used assessments once and run them in a single tap — same structure, same order, every time. Your results stay consistent regardless of who’s testing.
