(FR) Notre client, M. Karl Kennedy ayant passé de l'amplificateur Squark SE vers l'amplificateur Quark nous as envoyé ce message avec l'autorisation de le publier. Voici donc son analyse.... Et cliquez sur les photos pour voir l'intérieur!
Je prends quelques minutes pour vous partager mes premières impressions suite à l'upgrade de mon intégré Squark vers une configuration inspirée du Quark.
J'ai effectué plusieurs écoutes sur mes pistes de référence, et les changements sont immédiatement perceptibles. On est clairement en présence d'une montée en gamme significative.
Voici les principaux éléments que j'ai notés :
-Fonds noirs nettement plus profonds, avec une sensation de silence accrue entre les notes.
-Meilleur soutien et prolongement des notes (decay), ce qui améliore la continuité musicale.
-Lisibilité accrue des lignes secondaires, beaucoup plus faciles à suivre.
-Grave plus contrôlé, plus rapide et mieux articulé.
-Aigu plus étendu, tout en restant fluide et sans dureté.
Au-delà des aspects techniques, ce qui me marque le plus est l'évolution globale de la restitution :
Le système est devenu plus transparent et plus neutre, sans perte de musicalité. Les voix sont plus humaines, mieux proportionnées — moins "grossies" artificiellement, mais beaucoup plus crédibles.
Autre point important : l'écoute à bas volume est maintenant beaucoup plus cohérente. Le système reste complet, intelligible et engageant sans avoir besoin de monter le niveau sonore.
Au final, l'upgrade apporte une signature clairement plus "high-end" : plus naturelle, plus fluide, et surtout très engageante sur la durée. n se surprend à simplement vouloir continuer l'écoute plutôt qu'à analyser le système.
À mon avis, ce n'est pas un simple raffinement, mais une amélioration structurante qui permet à l'amplificateur de mieux révéler tout le potentiel de la chaîne en amont.

I’m taking a few minutes to share with you my first impressions following the upgrade of my Squark integrated into a Quark-inspired configuration.
I have performed several listens on my reference tracks, and the changes are immediately noticeable. We are clearly in the presence of a significant move upmarket.
Here are the main points I noted:
-Black backgrounds significantly deeper, with a feeling of increased silence between the notes.
-Better support and extension of notes (decay), which improves musical continuity.
-Increased readability of the secondary lines, much easier to follow.
-Bass is more controlled, faster, and better articulated.
-Acute more extended, while remaining fluid and without harshness.
Beyond the technical aspects, what strikes me most is the overall evolution of the restitution:
The system has become more transparent and neutral, without loss of musicality. The voices are more human, better proportioned—less artificially "fattened up," but much more credible.
Another important point: listening at low volume is now much more consistent. The system remains complete, intelligible and engaging without the need to raise the sound level.
In the end, the upgrade brings a clearly more "high-end" signature: more natural, smoother, and above all very engaging over time. n finds himself simply wanting to continue listening rather than analyzing the system.
In my opinion, it is not a simple refinement, but a structuring improvement that allows the amplifier to better reveal all the potential of the upstream chain.
