Jager Felice of Levels found his tone. 👇
When it comes to getting the perfect guitar tone, your speakers make all the difference.
For Jager Felice of Levels, that sound comes from pairing the Eminence DV-77 with the Eminence Karnivore. Together, they deliver the powerful, aggressive tone he needs to bring his sound to life on stage.
As Jager puts it:
“You just can't get that sound going straight DI. You need a cab, you need Eminence speakers. That's how you do it.”

Whether you're playing live, recording in the studio, or dialing in your dream rig, the right speakers are essential to finding your signature sound.

What REALLY goes into the sound of a guitar speaker?

From the cone and voice coil to the magnet and overall construction, every component plays a role in shaping the tone you hear.

In this interview, Kohlekeller Studio sits down with Eminence’s own Jerry McNutt to explore the science behind speaker design, how different components influence frequency response, and why even small changes can make a big difference in your sound.

Originally recorded a couple of years ago, this conversation is packed with insight for guitarists, tone chasers, and anyone curious about what makes their favorite speakers sound the way they do.

Looking to smooth out a bright amp without sacrificing character? The Lil' Buddy has you covered.

Built with a h**p cone, the Lil' Buddy delivers a warm, full-bodied voice with rich lows, smooth highs, and a naturally musical response. H**p cones are known for taming harsh top-end frequencies while producing a slower, more organic breakup, making every note feel balanced and expressive.

Whether you're playing blues, jazz, classic rock, roots, country, or even harmonica, the Lil' Buddy brings warmth and depth to your favorite 10-inch combo. If you're after cleaner cleans, sweeter overdrive, and a tone that's easy on the ears, this little speaker can make a big difference.

Small speaker. Big tone. You need the Lil' Buddy.

There's nothing quite like the feel of a real speaker moving air.

Jager Felice of Levels relies on the DV-77 and Karnivore pairing because, for him, great guitar tone starts with a real cabinet. While direct rigs have their place, he believes nothing replaces the raw response, punch, and connection you get from playing through real speakers.

If you want your audience to hear the same energy and character you feel on stage, take Jager's advice: "You have to have Eminence Speakers. That's how you do it.
