[Recap] KICK-OFF DAY - SETA INTERNATIONAL AGENTIC AI HACKATHON 2026

May 29, 2026 marked a significant milestone as the SETA International Agentic AI Hackathon 2026 officially entered its next stage of competition with an incredibly exciting Kick-Off Day.

Opening the program, Mr. Hà Quốc Huy, AI Leader and representative of the Advisory Board, shared deep insights on the vision, objectives, and expectations the Organizing Committee has set for the competition, while also offering a practical perspective on the growing role of AI in today's businesses. More than just an orientation, his words served as a powerful source of inspiration for every team to step into the challenge with clarity and full confidence.

The most anticipated moment of the day arrived when 14 competing teams drew their challenge topics live, each selecting from 7 demanding problem statements carefully prepared by the Organizing Committee. Alongside this, Mr. Tạ Cao Cảnh, Project Manager and Advisory Board representative, officially announced the resources provided to all teams for the competition, including: an Open Source toolkit, API keys, OpenAI API Keys, Mock Data for each problem statement, a deployment environment, and subdomains.

14 teams. 7 challenges. And countless breakthrough ideas waiting to be unveiled. A journey of exploration, experimentation, and building real-world Agentic AI solutions has officially begun! 🚀

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF AI AGENTS GOES BEYOND TECHNOLOGY | SETA INTERNATIONAL AGENTIC AI HACKATHON 2026

The developer community has been buzzing around a question that is not easy to answer: "As AI grows more powerful, can non-technical people start replacing developers?"

🌐For Mr. Huy, AI Lead at SETA International Vietnam, the most critical factor when working with AI comes down to one thing: Do you truly understand the problem you are trying to solve?

He does not deny that AI is advancing rapidly. Junior Developers can now confidently take on tasks once reserved for Senior Developers - something that would have seemed unlikely just a few years ago. Yet he is clear on one point:

"If you don't understand the root of the problem, AI will only produce solutions that look good on the surface but fail in practice."

No matter how powerful the tool, a misunderstood problem at the start will cause everything built on top of it to go wrong - often without anyone realising until it is too late.

He has witnessed firsthand how over-reliance on AI can bring projects to a standstill. One team used AI to generate nearly 90% of their source code - an approach that seemed efficient, until bugs appeared. No one could understand the logic well enough to debug it. It could not be maintained. It could not be fixed. All because the problem had been misunderstood from the beginning.

There is also a critical risk that often goes overlooked: many projects grant AI Agents access to sensitive data without adequate oversight or access controls - a serious security vulnerability hiding beneath the surface of "intelligent automation."

🌐 So what does using AI Agents effectively actually look like?

"Treat AI as a support tool, not a replacement. You must actively engage with it, reviewing and validating its output at every step of the process."

Provide the AI with a clear and detailed business context, define the expected output - and let the Agent handle ex*****on. But to do that well, you must first have a thorough understanding of the problem itself. There are no shortcuts here.
