[Tech Sharing] Samsung is reportedly planning to invest an additional USD 1.5 billion in a semiconductor chip testing plant in Thai Nguyen, Vietnam, with operations expected to begin in 2027. The facility would become Samsung’s first dedicated chip testing factory in the country.
The investment reflects a larger trend: as global demand for AI, data centers, and advanced electronics continues to grow, the semiconductor supply chain is expanding across Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.
Beyond manufacturing capacity, this growth is expected to increase demand for areas such as quality control, traceability, automation, and smart factory operations.
Vietnam is gradually strengthening its role in the global semiconductor ecosystem, creating new opportunities across both manufacturing and supporting industries.
