I received a voicemail this morning from Krystal at "ACR Commercial Roofing" asking me to call them back if I had any roofing needs and that they provided free estimates.
I actually do not have any needs at this time but thought it might be a good idea to call them, find out about their company, where they are located and tell them about us and what we do.
Also thought this might be a good opportunity to invite them to one of our local business referral group meetings Collaborative Group of Michigan
The process of actually returning this call was notably terrible.
You could not actually just return the call based on the phone number the call came from. The voice message asked us to call her back at a totally different number and 4-digit extension number.
The only way to accomplish this feat was to log in to my voicemail and listen to the message two more times while writing down the callback number and extension number voiced in the voicemail message.
When I called the number all it did was go straight to on hold music, this would just play the music continuously and never get answered for over two full minutes.
There was no indication of who I called or why I was hearing a generic on hold loop of piano playing.
I tried dialing the 4-digit extension for Krystal.
This did not work, it just went silent and went back to the same on hold music.
I waited 2-3 minutes more, somebody eventually answered, but it wasn't Krystal.
I had to ask them if they could get me Krystal at extension 1026.
They eventually got me to Krystal.
I took this opportunity to tell Krystal who we are where we are at and what we do to help businesses with their computer/network IT and phone systems.
And also politely let her know how flawed their phone sales approach (or system) appeared to be and how most people simply would not call her back because the number the call come from cannot be dialed back.
And even the number I was asked to call back does not work at all properly.
They are not making any sales or contacts using this system for sure.
I let her know that we could fix it and make it work properly.
I also encouraged to meet up with us at one of our local business meeting to introduce herself and let us know what they can offer.
Free estimates and all.
I asked her where she was located and calling from.
She told me Canton Michigan.
I asked her this question before inviting her to one of our meetings.
After the call I was unable to find any kind of presence of this company in Canton Michigan.
Either this was not true, or they also need some help with their online marketing.
In that regard, as well as their phone system - I will make an effort to keep in contact with Krystal.
