Good news for our coastal contractors — National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is forecasting a below-normal 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. 🌀

Here's what the latest outlook says:

⛈️ 8-14 named storms (avg. is 14)
🌀 3-6 hurricanes (avg. is 7)
💨 1-3 major hurricanes (avg. is 3)

The main reason? El Niño is expected to develop and intensify during the season, which typically suppresses Atlantic storm activity.

But here's the part that matters most — NOAA's own forecasters put it plainly: "It only takes one storm to make for a very bad season."

A quieter forecast is not a pass on preparation. It's actually the best time to get your operation dialed in before the season heats up.
