We were actually surprised by some of the solicitation comments on this post. We shared this because one of our customers showed us the email and asked us if it was a scam. We reached out to the business the email appeared to come from, and they confirmed that their email account had been compromised.
So this was simply a warning post to help people recognize what a compromised account can look like and avoid clicking on a dangerous link.
Unfortunately, these scams are becoming more convincing, and even emails that appear to come from a trusted business can be fraudulent.
This is exactly the kind of thing we can help businesses and their customers with â keeping email accounts secure, identifying suspicious activity, and helping when something doesnât look right.
If youâre ever unsure about an email, stop before you click and ask. Itâs always better to be safe than sorry.
