🚨 WEBSITE OWNERS: IMPORTANT SECURITY ALERT! 🚨

Yesterday, October 21, the PHP development team released emergency updates to fix TWO critical security vulnerabilities that could allow hackers to take control of your website without ever logging in. 😳

And here’s the scary part…

Even if your WordPress website, themes, and plugins are completely up to date, your website could STILL be vulnerable!

That’s because the problem isn’t with WordPress. It’s with PHP, the programming language running behind the scenes on millions of websites.

Hackers could potentially exploit these vulnerabilities to run malicious code on your server, access sensitive information, or compromise your website.

⚠️ WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

✅ Check your PHP version. The patched versions are 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36, and 8.2.35.

✅ Back up your website. Always have a current backup before making changes.

✅ Update PHP immediately. This can often be done through your website hosting dashboard. Make sure your website is compatible with the version you’re upgrading to.

✅ Check for suspicious activity. Look for unfamiliar admin accounts, unexpected file changes, or anything else that doesn’t look right.

FINALLY! Facebook *might* be saving us a whole lot of clicking! 👏

If you manage a Facebook Business Page, you know the drill.

Someone likes or reacts to your post. You click their name. You click “Invite.” Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. 😩

Well, Meta is testing a new Auto-Invite feature that could do all that clicking for you!

When someone engages with your content, Facebook could automatically send them an invitation to follow your Page.

Why does this matter?

See, domain names are fun...
…okay, maybe that’s just the kitten. 🐱

But your domain name is a pretty big deal. It’s your business’s address on the internet and an important part of building a professional, recognizable brand.

And here’s an important one: make sure YOU own it. Your web designer, marketing company, cousin who “knows computers,” or anyone else shouldn’t own your domain on your behalf.

Register it in your name, keep the login information somewhere safe, and turn on auto-renewal. Losing access to your domain can mean losing your website, email, and a whole lot of sanity.

Think all your Facebook followers are seeing your posts? 😬

Think again. ☹️

Organic reach for business pages can be surprisingly low, which means having 1,000 followers doesn’t mean 1,000 people see what you post.

You're lucky if 10% of your followers see your content.

That’s why a good social media strategy can’t just be “post it and hope.”

IN FACT, if the content hits 10%, that's our indicator that it's "good," and we should boost it to reach more people.

Consistency, engaging content, Reels, interaction, and a little paid support can help you reach more of the audience you worked so hard to build.

Because great content doesn’t do much if nobody sees it. 👀
