This World Space Week, we’re celebrating the code that landed humanity on the Moon. 🚀🌕

Three minutes before Apollo 11 touched down, a hardware error flooded the guidance computer with false data, triggering critical 1202 and 1201 program alarms.

In 1969, a standard computer would have crashed under that pressure.

Instead, the revolutionary software built by Margaret Hamilton’s team at MIT performed an automated triage. Using priority scheduling, the system instantly dropped minor tasks (like updating the astronauts’ screen) to focus 100% of its power on the landing thrusters.

It didn't panic. It adapted. 🧠💻
