Xbox Series X Fan Not Spinning – 12V Fan Power Short, Blown Capacitors & 0 Ohm Resistor Repair

In this Device Drop repair video, I diagnose and repair an Xbox Series X with a fan that would not spin even after the fan was replaced.

The issue was not the replacement fan itself. The Xbox Series X had a problem on the 12 volt fan power line caused by blown/exploded capacitors and a damaged 0 ohm resistor in the fan circuit. When the fan tried to start spinning, the damaged circuit could not properly supply the amperage needed. This caused the voltage to drop, preventing the fan from spinning correctly.

In this repair, I go through the testing, diagnosis, and repair process for the 12V fan power short, including identifying the failed components and restoring proper power delivery to the fan.

This type of issue can commonly be mistaken for a bad fan, but if the fan has already been replaced and still does not spin, the problem may be related to the motherboard, the 12V power rail, shorted capacitors, or damaged zero-ohm resistor/fuse-style components.
