At Moore’s Customz, we believe a canvas is anything with a surface. My journey started at 12 years old, rooted in the discipline of Fine Art and the precision of Tattooing.
About 15 years ago, I brought those worlds together when I moved back to Ohio and transitioned fully into the

airbrush. Today, that lifetime of experience is what fuels every project that rolls through our doors—from Automotive and Motorcycles to Firearms and Large-scale Murals.
Why we focus on the process:
Precision Background: The steady hand required for tattooing is the same hand that ensures your "glass-like shine" is flawless.
Fine Art Vision: We don't just paint parts; we create compositions. Every hand-sketched layout is designed to flow with the specific lines of the machine.
Legacy in Motion: I’m now passing these decades of cross-industry secrets to my son, who has been apprenticing under the "Moore Standard" since he was 12.
We aren't the loudest shop in the room, but we are the most dedicated to the craft. If you want art that carries a lifetime of history, you’re in the right place.
Stay Customz!

A quick side-by-side look at how this layout started compared to how it rolled out of the booth. Going from the factory stock black finish to the final layout is all about patience—no stencils, no tape, just letting the paint find its own way.

Had an absolute blast at the Thunder on the River bike reveal. Just wanted to send out a sincere thank you to the Thunder on the River crew, Folds of Honor, and the Shriners for everything they do for our veterans and kids. Big shoutout to the band Black Dahlia for rocking the stage, too.
If you want to see the bike in person, it’ll be on display at the rally in Ironton, Ohio, from August 27th through the 30th. Tickets for the charity raffle are $20, and someone is riding this machine home on August 29th.

lot of people ask why I call these paint layouts an illusion instead of 3D. There is a distinct difference between the two when you are working freehand. At the end of the day, the goal is just to trick the mind into seeing depth on a completely flat surface.
Don't forget the full bike is coming out of hiding today at the Fish Bowl in Portsmouth, Ohio. Come out and check it out in person if you're in the area.

Here is a straightforward breakdown of how a flat Harley-Davidson side cover gets visually transformed. It all comes down to how your eyes perceive the relationship between light and shadow.
To create the deep valleys and folds of a draped flag, darker paint values are layered into the transitions. To make the ridges look like they are rising up, the highest points receive the brightest white paint. When those highlights and deep shadows are placed correctly, your mind is tricked into seeing a completely uneven surface on a flat piece of metal.
No stencils, no tape, just letting the paint find its own way. Stay Customz 👊

Ever wonder why an airbrush portrait goes through a 'zombie stage'?

It’s not just painting—it’s about layering to recreate the natural skin tone and texture. I started with a deep base and slowly built it up to get that final look. It's a slow process, but it's the only way to make it real.

What do you think of the final transformation? Let me know below! 👇

We just got a fresh shipment of helmets into the shop, and we are kicking things off with a massive tribute piece.
This helmet is signed by "The Edge" himself—Edgerrin James. To honor his career, we are freehanding his Miami Hurricanes college colors "ripping" through the classic Indianapolis Colts design.
To make a 3D tear-away illusion look real, the shadow layers have to be completely dialed in. Too dark and the illusion is lost, too light and it doesn't work. Watch the end to see the tape peel revealing the protected signature.
Who is your favorite team? Let me know below. 👊
Next up is clear coat. Stay Customz 👊

Every piece has to go through the ugly stage first.

Welcome back to the workbench. We are elbows and as****es deep in this Folds of Honor build, breaking down exactly how to turn a dead-flat fiberglass tour pack lid into a 3D waving flag.

There are no tricks here—just custom shadow layers, precision transitions, and matching the bend of the metal until the brain believes the illusion. If you don't finesse the shading on every single fold, the whole wave looks unnatural.

The rhythm is locked in and we are pushing hard for the big reveal this weekend.
Drop a 👊 if you trust the process through the ugly stage, and stay customz!
