The experiment: Apply a claim-bounded verification approach to FoundationDB, a mature distributed database not built by Sentinel Labs.
The result: A reproducible, source-traced data-disposal path in FoundationDB 7.3.63 under a specific simulated recovery configuration, with controls and explicit limits on the claim.
Why it matters: The work moved beyond examining our own architecture. It produced a concrete finding in external code that another engineer can inspect and challenge.
What it does not prove: A novel bug, production exposure under ordinary operation, independent validation, or a generally effective verification methodology.
Not proof that the method works everywhere. Proof that the investigation can produce a specific, falsifiable result outside our own system.
