A firewall refresh is scheduled. The dead battery backup underneath it isn’t. 👀

One of our partners, Freedom House Museum, was due for a network security upgrade. Muhammad went onsite a couple weeks ago to replace their aging SonicWall with a new UDM Pro: old settings checked, new appliance installed and configured, rack reorganized so everything fit cleanly.

Then he checked the battery backup. It was dead. Not low - dead. Which means every power flicker would have taken the whole rack down with it, firewall and all.

So he called the office, got the go-ahead, and installed a new one right then. One visit, not two.

Then the part that actually matters: testing with the team on three different computers until they confirmed everything they needed was back and working.

That’s the thing about onsite work. The project is the firewall. The value is everything else you find while you’re standing in front of the rack.
