So i spent this past weekend at the Okie Homesteading Expo and honestly? It filled my cup right up.
I went with the intention of marketing and sharing PurveyOS — the farm inventory and point-of-sale software I built specifically for our farm. But what I walked away with was so much more than that.
Standing there talking to families at the very beginning of their homesteading journey — dreaming of growing their own food, raising their own animals, building something lasting for the next generation. It reminded us so much of where we were almost 8 years ago.
Back then we were just two people and 3 kids with a big dream of owing land with no intentions of farming and no idea what homesteading was. But life has a funny way of guiding you to where you are supposed to be. Today, Crossley’s Sweet P Pastures is a full-time farm raising pasture-raised pork ,chicken, and eggs 🐷🐔 — and what started as feeding our own family has grown into feeding numerous families in our community and surrounding communities. That's something we don't take lightly.
Talking with folks this weekend reminded us why we do what we do. The homesteading community is full of people who believe in real food, real work, and taking care of one another. We're proud to be part of it.
