Reacting under pressure takes energy your team can’t afford to waste.

When systems go down or critical data becomes unavailable, adrenaline makes the situation worse. Nothing replaces a tested plan. Calm recovery comes from knowing what to do before the situation turns urgent. Your team needs proven steps, clear ownership and the right information at the ready before the first alert hits.

Preparation lowers the pressure because your team isn’t starting from zero.

If your current recovery process depends on people staying “on” every second, message us. We’ll help you build a steadier plan.

Sharing is caring… except when it comes to passwords.

Using the same password for multiple accounts might be convenient, but it can turn one stolen password into an all-access pass to your business.

When a website gets breached, cybercriminals can take the stolen login information and try it on Microsoft 365, banking, accounting software, and other accounts.

If you’ve recycled that password, they may hit the login jackpot.

This is called credential stuffing—and unfortunately, it’s one kind of recycling we definitely don’t recommend.

Keep your accounts safer by:
- Using a different password for every account
- Letting a password manager remember them for you
- Turning on MFA wherever possible

Start with the big ones: email, banking, and anything containing customer information.

Reuse bottles. Reuse bags. Just don’t reuse passwords.

Secure systems need more than good technology. They need people who know what to do when something looks wrong.

A suspicious email, failed login or unexpected alert can quickly cause damage if no one owns the next step. Your team needs clear roles, simple escalation paths and the confidence to act before a small issue spreads.

Security works best when people, systems and response plans move together. If your team has to figure things out in the moment, it’s time to review the plan.

The businesses that stay calm and bounce back during disruptions usually have a few things in common:

• A documented recovery plan
• Clearly assigned responsibilities
• Tested backups
• Defined communication procedures
• Recovery processes that employees understand

When everyone is on the same page about recovery, confusion has no chance to spread.

Message us to find out if your team has what it needs to stay calm when it counts.

If your employees’ computers, personal phones, guests, security cameras, smart TVs, and other devices are all connected to the same network, a problem with one device could potentially put others at risk.

Think of your Wi-Fi like an office building. You wouldn’t give every visitor a key to every room—so why give every device access to the same network?

A better setup separates them:
𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗶-𝗙𝗶: Visitors and personal devices
𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Cameras, TVs, thermostats, and other connected technology
𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: Work computers, servers, and critical systems

Keeping them separated helps prevent a vulnerable device from becoming a doorway to more important parts of your business.

Not sure how yours is set up? Ask your IT provider one simple question:
“A𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀?”

A little separation can go a long way toward keeping your business secure.

Kraven IT can review your network setup, identify potential weak spots, and help separate your business systems from devices that don’t need access.

Myth: Confidence is all about believing your business can handle a disruption when it happens.

Fact: Real confidence comes from preparing before pressure arrives, so your team knows exactly what to do when disaster strikes.

That means knowing your backups work, your recovery plan has been tested and your team understands its responsibilities. When an outage occurs, preparation gives people something better than reassurance.

It gives them direction.

A tested plan creates the confidence most businesses are looking for. Message us to schedule a consultation and review your recovery readiness.

How far from your business would a cyberthreat need to be before you took it seriously?

Many business owners respond to incidents after they occur. The stronger approach is to stop them before they reach critical systems. Early detection, proactive monitoring and tested security controls help reduce the damage before it starts.

The best incident is the one that never reaches your team.

Send us a message to schedule a consultation and see what threats your business should be prepared for.

Working from a hotel, airport, or coffee shop?

Public Wi-Fi may be convenient, but it isn't always secure.

Cybercriminals can create fake Wi-Fi hotspots or attempt to intercept data on unsecured networks, putting your business information at risk.

Here are three simple ways to stay protected:
- Use a trusted VPN when connecting to public Wi-Fi.
- Use your phone's hotspot for sensitive work whenever possible.
- Disable automatic connections to open Wi-Fi networks on your devices.

A few simple precautions can go a long way in protecting your business while you're on the move.

How many of your business files could be accessed by anyone with the link?

If you're using OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive, or Dropbox, it's worth checking.

Sharing files with "Anyone with the link" is quick and convenient—but it can also expose sensitive information if that link is forwarded, copied, or shared with the wrong person.

Instead, whenever possible, share files with specific people or groups and regularly review who has access to important documents.

Customer information, financial records, contracts, and confidential business data should never be accessible to more people than necessary.

👉 Not sure if your cloud storage is configured securely? Kraven IT can review your file-sharing settings and help protect your business data from unnecessary exposure.

“Before" is the most powerful word in recovery.

Before the fall. Before the storm. Before the moment that matters.

Recovery doesn't begin during a crisis. It begins in the preparation that came before it.

Your backups are only as strong as the last time you tested them.

When was that? Let's schedule a review for you.
