Rain couldn't stop a great shoot. 📸

M Creative teamed up with photographer Stephen Hurst to get fresh images for Davidson-Davie Community College at the college's Davie campus in Mocksville last week.

When the weather kept students indoors, we went into the classrooms, which is where Davidson-Davie shines brightest.

We're proud to have worked with Davidson-Davie for almost ten years. The college consistently ranks among North Carolina's top 10 community colleges for curriculum completion.

Together with creative partners like Stephen, we help the college generate new photography that supports its advertising, marketing, and internal communication efforts—photos that capture an authentic view of its amazing students.

M Creative was proud to sponsor last week's PRIMA NC Conference, hosted this year in our hometown of Winston-Salem.

Marketing professionals from North Carolina's community colleges came together for three days of learning, networking, and celebrating great work in the field. Partner Forrest Causby presented on why, when, and how to partner with an agency, and we were honored to have some client work submitted in the annual Marketing & Communications Awards.

We're especially proud of our client Davidson-Davie Community College, who took home two awards this year, including Best Website for our recent refresh of their website. Congratulations to the whole Davidson-Davie team!

Thirty years ago, our founder Don Mikush started M Creative, not knowing that three decades later we would still be here, still using strategy, design, and communications to help our clients do more good for more people.

Last week we celebrated our 30th anniversary at Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, in the very building we helped raise funds for in 2020. The evening was full with M Creative trivia, delicious food, a gallery of past projects, and long-time friends.

A 30-year anthem written and shared by our writer Stephen Young stated our purpose and ambition well, "listen, understand the best you can, then make something true."

That's been our approach since the beginning, whether designing a logo, leading a campaign, or building a culture worth staying for.

Mary Jamis, our fearless leader from 2015–2024, put it best: some workplaces are more family than they are a company.

Heartfelt thanks to the M Team past and present who have served this organization and our clients the past thirty years. Here's to thirty more!

We're proud to have partnered with The Winston-Salem Foundation, Education Foundation, and community partners throughout the All In For Our Schools campaign, providing strategic communications, social media support, and impact storytelling.

This community-wide effort raised more than $9.8 million to ensure students, teachers, and schools across Winston-Salem/Forsyth County were supported this past school year and to put our district on firmer financial ground for the future.

We're grateful to have played a role in helping share the story of a campaign that united the community around public education and created lasting impact for students, educators, and schools across the district.

With the close of the 2025–26 school year, the Education Foundation is looking ahead to its next chapter of supporting Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.

Through the All In For Our Schools campaign, our community raised more than $9.8 million to support students, teachers, and schools across the district, helping reduce district debt, meet classroom needs, support student success, and provide books and textbooks.

As the campaign winds down, the Education Foundation has established the All In For Our Schools Fund to continue supporting critical needs identified in partnership with WS/FCS leaders.

Hospice of Davidson County has officially become Alderwood of Davidson County—a name that honors over 40 years of compassionate care while laying the groundwork for a new chapter for an impactful organization.

We had the privilege of working with their team through this transition, helping develop the communications strategy, design the new visual identity, and launch the new brand. It's the kind of work that reminds us why we love doing what we do.

For Alderwood, a rebrand is more than just a new logo. It's a declaration. It's a commitment to meet families wherever they are on their journey, and guiding them through some of their most difficult moments with care and intentionality.

The 2026 The Winston-Salem Foundation Community Gathering at the Benton Convention Center was an evening centered on Poetry, Place, and Possibility.

The night featured a powerful keynote from Ada Limón, 24th Poet Laureate of the United States, whose work continues to remind us of the role storytelling plays in connection, resilience, and care for community.

We also experienced a newly commissioned poem from our friend and collaborator Jacinta White, spent time engaging with an interactive creative station hosted by Sawtooth School for Visual Art, and explored a thoughtful book selection from our friends Bookmarks.

Grateful to be part of a gathering that brings together community leaders, creatives, and organizations in meaningful conversation about the places we call home.

Yesterday, 1,200 students graduated from Davidson-Davie Community College, earning a combined 1,750 credentials, including 680 associate degrees, 123 diplomas, 1,019 certificates, and 140 college transfer pathways. These credentials represent new careers, continued education, workforce advancement, and brighter futures across our community.

Alumni, families, faculty, and supporters gathered on the lawn in front of the Mendenhall Building to celebrate graduates from Arts and Sciences, Business and Technology, Health Sciences, Workforce and Community Engagement, and Career and College Readiness programs.

The ceremonies recognized the hard work, perseverance, and dedication that brought students to this moment as they prepare to begin their next chapters.

“You might be crossing this stage to a new path and new future, but just remember that you will always have a home here, and you'll always be part of the Davidson-Davie family,” said Jenny Varner, President of Davidson-Davie Community College.
